i saw worse  it was chaos

people driving on shoulders on the tollway to pass
just park wherever the hell you want in the middle of the street to go into the store or whatever
honk honk honk all the time at lights
at least most of their vehicles were small enough to not cause too much of an issue
and the direction signs on every corner so you would never get lost lol

It was amazing the number of tiny cars that fit there and they just went wherever they wanted. There weren’t many nice cars cuz they all got beat up in the cities.

We got picked up in a nice Mercedes for one of the tours we went on. He drove it around like it was nothing and it was twice the side of anything else around

at least you had a driver that knew where he was going!
we were on our own driving a rental mini van with german plates trying to find the military base(s) in the days before gps and widely available cell phones
i enjoyed the (paid) adventure, my co-workers did not!

Traveling before gps and cell phones was definitely traveling on hard mode!

Now you can still get where you want even if you can’t read anything, just gotta follow the arrow

Made it back from Missouri, definitely had a fun weekend down there. We did about 200 miles between the two days, the first day was pretty tame but the second day took us to some awesome places and definitely tested our skills for both trucks to make it back in one piece. We also found a pretty awesome camp site on the river for a future trip.

Thanks again to @Cav_BluTRD for the planning and spotting for me on Sunday to make sure my truck made it out of the woods in once piece for the 400+ mile journey back home

@Cav_BluTRD and I both stayed dry in the monsoon Saturday night. He’s now taking orders on his sleep system if anyone is interested!

Where abouts on the trail map were this taken at? I know it was after we broke off. Got another buddy who wants to go in the future and this is something we definitely want to hit on that trip.

Here’s the log from day 2 if anyone wants to go explore. I would HIGHLY recommend not going alone or unprepared on this route, it was much more adventurous than the first day was from mud to large rocks that could ruin your day in a hurry, especially the power line road out and back we did and the last section was pretty tight with some large rocks asking to ruin things if you missed a spot.
    https://www.gaiagps.com/public/uawvMdOYQ9MWyAIkNxi1jy8h

The power line road is VERY steep and rocky, its hard to capture in pictures. The spot we turned around is at the bottom before a 30+ degree climb up the side of a hill on lose rock.

I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Seemed like 50° standing at the base.

It’s no joke for sure. I’m sure it’s makeable with some skill and luck but definitely wasnt worth the risk to me, especially after the monsoon and how loose the rocks were out there

Yeah. Crawl control. Well. That is what it is. Works good, it literally crawls up the trail. I didn’t really notice a difference with MTS on.

I’ve used them both and they are pretty cool. ATRAC in the MT with the low crawl ratios works just as well though so we aren’t really missing out on anything major
