Cool but curious on how long that cable is. How many layers? Pretty neat video though.

Pretty sure it's the standard 100' synthetic rope that comes on most of those winches.

That'd be my thought as well ^ They said it was the RSI so that implies the synthetic line.

I was just meaning how many layers and the length for that particular video. Since they lose pulling power with more layers. Just curious about that.

Ah I see, you're talking about how you get the most strength on your last few wraps on the drum? Basically line fully extended scenario?

Good question, I doubt they modified the line for the lift here so that would put it at potentially at it's 'weakest'. Obviously not weak though haha. What I think is more impressive than the lift is how he lets it down  Really a testimonial to their brake design if you ask me. No jerking or popping at all, just nice and steady. Hard to describe how cool that is if you haven't done a lot of winching...

This video was filmed at our dealer – Rokmen Jeeps & Jerseys event.

The winch on the Jeep is our Seal 9.5rsi (Gen1) winch. No modifications were made to the winch, it's 100% stock.

The rope used is our stock synthetic rope 3/8” x 100’.

Most of time, the rope is on 4th layer of drum, so we were using the 5,514-6,410 lb pulling force zone to lift the jeep.

We hung the jeep from 12:00 to 4:30 and no slippage during the demonstration.

A few times during the demonstration we used the wireless remote to run the winch in & out as demonstration every hour.

You can see more from Rokmen Jeep on their facebook page here:

Great! Anyone in the PNW that can come by Mule Expedition Outfitters this Saturday in Issaquah, WA will be able to learn some good stuff about winch recovery in the winch recovery class being taught by Marc Bowers and we'll answer any questions you have about our winches. Should be a great time.

EDIT: I should've mentioned before. So far, dealing with Comeup has been great. I've found their customer service to be top notch.

First, the winch I was going to buy was out of stock. So, Rod offered me a nice discount on the one I ended up choosing.

If that wasn't enough, he's also responded to my emails very quickly.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to deal with this company again

Got my 9.5 rs yesterday. Bolted it up to my cradle and wired it tonight. Just waiting on a Mobtown front receiver so I can put it on the truck.

I love the look of this set up.

    F0B0732C-D4FE-4EC7-A731-734557B8CD13_zps_e1874bc0af49e3ac826cfa26c0f21c5735a6ffbe.jpg

I bought a wring kit that will allow me to have a quick disconnect in the front and the rear of the truck.

I do have one question though... What is this wire? EDIT: goes to the ground post.

I'd like to not have to fool with that wire trying to figure out what it is. As you can see, it's going to be a busy weekend... :D
