I dropped $125 on a very good quality, professionally installed leather steering wheel cover. Seems like a lot of $$, but I have zero regrets.

haha well i randomly started reading this thread and i decided to share a short story but sorry its off topic.

i recently went to a strip club to watch the ufc fights and well we were there my buddies and i decided to watch some of the girls dance while we were waiting for the fight to start. anyway before i make this story to long had an awkward moment i knew the girl on stage haha.

and the next fight after that we decided to go back since it was such a damn good time, and well i found out that i know to strippers pretty well haha wtf huh? anyway it was a good time both times for sure :D

This reminded me that I have been neglecting the the burnt out half of my instrument cluster for far to long. (At only 86K miles?!?!) I was just checking out the SuperBrightLeds.com web page and noticed that they have a 10% discount for orders of 50+ pieces (13 people x 4 bulbs each) and a 20% discount for 100+ pieces (25 people x 4 bulbs each). I know I can't be the only person with cluster lights burnt out, does anyone think this could be a good "Group Buy" to start? I'm only on my second day here, so some input from a Senior Member would be appreciated.....but I think it has potential. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions from my fellow "comfort mods" people are appreciated as well.

They sell the 194 Type Bulb for $5.95 each. This is the same socket as ours, but with the 360 degree illumination (5 LEDs). The 360 illumination seems to be what is recommend for an LED replacement. Obviously we could iron out the wrinkles before we pulled the trigger, but here is a rough break down of cost savings....

At the 10% discount level it would save us roughly $.59 per bulb, for a total savings of about $2.36 on a set of four.
    • $23.80 for 4 bulbs without the discount.
    • $21.44 for 4 bulbs WITH the 13 person / 10% discount.
At the 20% discount level it would save us roughly $1.19 per bulb, for a total savings of about $4.76 on a set of four. It equals out to almost one free bulb if we can get 25+ people on board.
    • $21.44 for 4 bulbs with the 13 person or 10% discount.
    • $19.04 with the 25 person / 20% discount.
The next bump for the 25% discount is 500+ pieces, and I could be wrong, but it might be hard to get 125 people on board with this!

    Food for thought.

I used a shop that only does custom interiors and convertible tops - for about 30 years. Took them over an hour to install it and the fit is PERFECT - much better than if I would have done it myself

The OP mentioned comfort for yourself and for your passengers. Check out my write-up on the Leaf Spring Helpers I just reverse installed. This is a surprisingly affordable "comfort mod" that can save you from the dreaded "Axle Wrap" if you are still running tired stock leaf springs. It's a 1st Gen write up, but can still be applied to other years and body styles.
