As a woman on my 3rd tacoma - I wholeheartedly contribute to those numbers - if those numbers aren’t bogus!

that said - on the street I see 99.9% taco drivers being men 25-45 years of age

Ridgeline, whenever I see once in a blue moon; seems to be 55-65 year old women.

    Around here at least

Honda is very car like. the Toyota is very truck like. If you want a little of both, get a Ranger. Can't say how long it will last, but it's real fun to drive.

Only person I know off hand that drives a Ridgeline is a retired machinist that makes and sells turkey calls - damn good ones.

    Everyone drives Tacomas.

Who cares what genitalia you have or think you should have? Drive what you like. :notsure:

You should test drive one instead of asking strangers opinions...

I had an 06 Ridgeline when they came out. Loved how it drove. Got tired of the look..

Subaru's are cheap feeling to me. Way too thin.

My Tacoma is a bulletproof truck that drives great and looks the part.

What type of AWD system is in the Ridgeline? Is there at least a center diff lock button?
I came from a Highlander, and in the soft beach sand these awd vehicles are always getting stuck. If I didn't maintain forward momentum the Highlander would have sank, so I kept to the more packed sand beaches. This is why I went for the 4x4 Tacoma, easily able to stop/park in the dunes. I do use the rear locker when going up the dunes that get cut by the ocean, goes up and over like its driving on pavement.
Curious to the Ridgeline AWD vs the Toyota AWD.

The article was figured as a percentage of truck buyers. Men obviously buy a shitload more trucks than women so just because it says 16 percent of women buy Tacoma's versus 15 percent of men does equate to more women buyers.

This is what the article says:

"According to the 2020 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck review by J.D. Power, more women buy the Tacoma pickup than men. Trucks have long been a segment dominated by men, but the compact Toyota pickup is appealing to a rising demographic of female pickup truck owners. The 2020 Tacoma is a rising star in the eyes of female truck buyers."

Interpret this as you want I guess.

Also median age of new Tacoma buyer is 54 years old. Guessing out of ~250,000 units they sell per year only a very small percentage of those owners are on this board, and out of those likely most of them are a much younger demographic.

I could live with a Ridgeline. Thing is, if I'm sacrificing low range and bed length I'd sooner buy an AWD wagon or SUV.

In my work parking lot, there are like 6 pickups, 5 are owed/driven by "Males", in fact I would say there are about 10 males in my building and 5 drive trucks. there are about 30 females, and only 1 drives a pick up. There are a lot of way too big SUVs, so if those count as trucks, then that changes the numbers.

The RL has a sand mode that adjust throttle and stability/traction input. Would like to see how it stacks up IRL.

You get a Tacoma because you love the Tacoma and are a fan of it. Also they’re bad ass and cool trucks. Well that’s why I got one, I think the speed is okay but cars always smoke me lol

Everyone apparently thinks Tacoma with v6 = race truck. Why? Yes things can be improved with a tune. But if you want to haul ass, get a vehicle meant for hauling ass. I have no complaints with my 2019 manual TRD OR. Sure it could use a tune. But not badly enough for me to drive to Charlotte to get one of the homies on here to do it ASAP. Eventually I will. But I don’t see what all the gripes are about, unless you didn’t research and bought without a test drive.

I just got a 2021 TRD Off Road. I test drove the F150 and the Honda. The Honda was nice, very car like, good use of space even in the bed. The F150 was awesome. Power, space, comfy ride...wouldn't fit in my garage and will have troubles somewhere before 150k miles. The Tacoma fits me, does what I need it to, gets 18 city and 22 on the highway if I go 70 or under and no head wind or hills. But I really like the ride and how it fits me. I have had 4 other Toyota trucks, all rock solid reliable, all underpowered, and all held their value. Resale is another win if I get tired of it. The Honda felt a lot like my Accord did, nice to drive, but not a truck.

I can't wait to see this one when it comes out.

The previous gen is more than 200lbs heavier than a TRD OR. So even though there is more power, the power to weight ratio is similar if this new one keeps existing curb weight
