Been an owner of an awesome 2010 TRD DC for 12 years. Got T-Boned two weeks ago and my truck is done. They still aren’t sure if repairable or totaled (that’s another story) but decided was time to upgrade.

Picked up a 2022 new yesterday from Sebring Toyota. Delt with them over the phone. Fairly easy process and drove her home yesterday. Yes I’m pretty boring, same color and model. MGM TRD Sport 4x2. Has the Sport Preminum package as well as the tech package. Nice to have the modern features my 2010 didn’t have.

Already ordered a couple of small interior things and will be doing a tonneau cover monday. Watching Black Friday deals for step bars.

And for anyone wondering, my 2010 had 72k miles on it with only oil/filter, brakes (once), battery and a set of tires in her lifetime. Oh and replaced (2) power window switches. Was very happy with that truck. Hope the Gen3 will be the same.

It sucks some balloon-head ruined your other truck, but it sounds like you have your health and a new truck to move in with.

Sorry for your misfortune but congrats on the new ride. I bought a 2019 Rav4 hybrid from Sebring the same way...basically all by email and phone until it was time to pick it up, including the trade-in. Once I got there it was verify, sign, and go. Everything was as they stated, no surprises.

Is it my imagination or do your pics of the truck show two different TRD Sport decals?

Lol yes those two trucks are 12 years apart. My 2010 was pretty much mint condition. I detail cars as a little side job.

And yes to Sebring Toyota. Abel was my salesman. Very nice guy. Pricing was worth the 2:20 drive to pickup. In and out in under 2hours. Truck didn’t come with floor mats and Abel grabbed a set of All Wx ones and installed them. But now to slowly mod the new one. Lol

another pic of my 2010 days before she got hit.

    Congrats on the new truck.
It will take a little bit of getting used to, but well worth it.
Be warned, you will find that every time you park your new truck, your left foot will try to engage the 2nd gen parking brake that isn't there.
Don't worry, it goes away after 3 or 4 months.

Duhhhhh....goes to show you how observant I am LOL. Shame you're not near Port St. Lucie or I would have you detail mine. That 2010 looked great!

Lol I know was thinking that the other day. Awesome pic BTW. Used to live just below the Dakine cannery in Haiku. That’s when I had my very first Tacoma regular cab.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.

Nice trucks. We have almost matching fleets. I still love driving my old g2. But I keep forgetting to shut the headlights off. I never once drained a battery until I had the g3. Because the lights are auto, I forget them now on the g2. Done it twice in the last month.

I sold the 2008 Sport a month ago.
177k miles and funky paint, and still got 16k$ for it.
It helped that I had the frame replaced, and had almost no rust.
I do miss my 2nd gen.

Welcome and congrats. My story is very similar to yours except that I was able to sell my 2005 2-Gen SR5 (2x4) for $10,000.0, towards my 2022 down LOL!.
I also got a TRD Sport 2x4 in MGM, exactly like yours so, great purchase! I never needed the 4x4 and I want to squeeze mpg’s as much as possible.
I do think the 2-Gen is a better truck, mainly because of the 4.0 L engine. This new 3.5 Aktinson cycle engine and the way it is tuned acts weird.

Sorry about the 2nd gen, the new truck looks sharp though. I'm usually not fond of the 3rd gen alloys but those look pretty good for some reason
