    I know this is unlikely due to how new these are but do you have any direct comparison of beam pattern to the SS3 sport? I'm wondering if there's any difference performance-wise or if the primary difference is just the aesthetics of the light itself for an OE application.

    DD website does have all of the output figures.

    Judging by the light output on my SS3 sports, I would almost say these are a little brighter but nowhere close to the SS3 pros. Which also have a wider throw pattern. These elites have a really tight beam pattern which looks fantastic.

    I will say this, if you're doing off-road, the SS3 and SS5 lights have interchangeable parts to help with shape and fitment. These new elites look like they come in one size / shape to best fit OEM applications.

    The amber backlighting is a neat feature. Sounds like it gives it a little always-on glow.

    Kind of excited about that ngl. It says the backlight feature turns off automatically once the fog lights are turned on. I suppose that's to help with power management and light output.

    Yeah, the numbers are similar to the sports with a difference so minor I doubt it would be perceptible to the naked eye. I was more so curious about the beam pattern due to the completely different housings/reflectors.

    edit: Found my answer. 80°x8° for the SS3 Fog and 80°x6° for the Elite Series

    I have a test set here that I personally haven't had the opportunity to play with much, but Lightwerkz did a quick in-house comparison on their own set of white ones. They gathered 177 peak lux on the SS3 sport, and 167 peak on the Elites.

    Pattern tightness is not even close though... SS3 Sport on top, Elite on bottom

    im so torn on this. it's a must-buy for me, but the color choice. Always wanted the added benefits of yellow/orange in bad weather, but absolutely love the clean matching look of white (to match my light bar and my morimoto led headlights). ahhhhhhhhh decisions

    Do you live somewhere that the driving conditions are regularly poor? While the yellow is amazing up here in the great white north even a properly aimed/tuned fog light in white will provide benefits when conditions break down.

    No, not at all I'm on Long Island, NY. Visibiiity never an issue, and the most "off road" this truck goes is Long Island beaches. That's why I think im leaning white and would look to hook up the amber backlight. Not too electrical savvy (although I did do the light bar, OEM switch, and OEM bed lights myself) but would be curious to see a YouTube tutorial to tap into the DRL for feature

    The kit already comes with a T-Tap so basic tapping is really easy. We've fielded a bunch of inquiries here at Hotshot Offroad since the backlit SS3s came out essentially asking "where should I tap if I want them to turn on under X conditions". I think I have all of the options pretty well memorized. :rofl:

    You can call or email us and we could talk you through it. I might even be able to throw together a quick one-take for you before they would be delivered showing you how to tap a wire. All you need is a pair of pliers.
