While our Tacos are not 50 years old yet, I can already relate to the joys of owning a simple machine from an earlier time. Love the message here.

It reminds that at my age I am the vintage vehicle.

I had an old early 70's Toyota Landcruiser that had the choke, no power steering (on 33's I believe), no radio, no AC and vents down by the floorboard that you just kicked open with your foot. I loved driving that thing for just what the video said-you feel connected to it. I knew how to choke it by the sound, weather/temp, when it was last ran etc. You "learn" your vehicle in a way someone else just jumping in would have no idea. My Tacoma is pretty ritzy by comparison! lol

It'll be interesting to see how many recent vehicles survive. Those old Fords (and everything prior to about 1980) had frames that were twice or more thick as a Tacoma. Heck, I bet the sheet metal in the body of that Ford is probably thicker than the frame walls in our trucks. No electronics, very few connectors or plastic parts. When they say "vintage" they mean prior to fuel injection or anything with a computer for sure.

I had an '87 4runner and liked it till certain parts rusted out and almost got me in an accident (main brake line). Had it for several years. If I had a garage big enough for a car lift or if there was a catalog of replacement parts for Toyota pickups and 4runners, I would've kept it. Sold it to have a 1st gen Tacoma again.

This is the one I won't let go off until I absolutely have to. It's a '96, first year of production for the Z3s. Assembled in Greer, SC and shipped to me in Germany. I brought it back to the US in '97. My Tacoma is a 2004 access cab and it's great for now, but when I retire next year it will become my primary vehicle and I will need the rear seats so I won't get to nurse this one to vintage status.

The siding on the garage, the canoes, the lake house, the roads, and land in this video remind me of Cazenovia (Madison County) NY.

that brake line :censored: almost happened to me in my Corolla beater of 18yrs, thank goodness I was just backing out of the driveway at the time it spewed brake fluid all over the place
limped the car halfway across town slowly for a $500 iirc fixIt at the dealer, so far so good, but they said the fuel lines are getting iffy now...

When mine blew out, I rolled threw a stop light that just turned red. Thankfully there wasn't anyone in front of me and there wasn't much traffic. Happened on a Friday after leaving work. I didn't risk driving it home since I live 35 minutes away so I limped it back to work to leave it till morning and called my father to come pick me up.
Since both the main brake lines and main fuel line were right next to each other on the frame, I had to replace that too. Ended up replacing brake lines, fuel line, fuel tank, and fuel pump plus fuel pump bracket before I made the decision to sell it.
