so im coming up on the 30k. looking forward to it actually because I get to switch over to full syn throughout the drive train and I love working on my cars. Anyways I have two questions:

Im going to be changing my tranny fluid over to redline mt90 while im under there, but going through my service manual I do not see anything about changing the 6spds tranny oil at any specific mileage. Why/whats recommended?

Im leaning towards denso coppers for the spark plugs after doing some research on here and heard about people throwing codes when running platinums or iridium. I do like the idea of throwing some iridiums in there and having them last a little bit longer. Opinions please?

I just did my 30000 service and asked about a tranni flush. The service tech said the fluid is lifetime and never needs to be replaced. I thought it sounded odd but he was trained by Toyota.
He also said if I changed the plugs my self the truch would run like crap because I " need to re calabrate my computer".
I thought this too sounded odd. I changed my own plugs and she runs fine. I just followed I think it was Chris4x4. Purrs like a kitten. Good luck with your service.

I work for toyota and we use copper denso plugs from toyota and I have never had to recalibrate any tacomas after a plug change. Toyota doesn't really specify a manual trans fluid change interval but i usually start to recommend it at 30k, my personal truck has 45000 on it and i haven't changed it yet because it still looks almost new.

In the Canadian Maintenance Menu (doubt it is different from US version)
diff fluids, t-case and manual trans fluid are done every 64,000kms. Spark plugs (standard type) are every 48000kms.
