My Tacoma is my DD and my only vehicle.

I've been down the road with multiple cars/trucks/suv's/motorcycles/boats...

At one point...I had one of each. Then one day I went into the garage and said to myself...WTF?

Now I go simple...Tacoma for me...Accord for the wife.

    Done.

I commute every day, 55 miles each way. I take back highways to get better gas mileage (at 55 mph, instead of interstate at 70).

I'm seeing tank averages of up to about 21 mpg if I mostly take the back highways.

    Ding ding ding!

I use my Tacoma as a DD for a 16 mile round trip every day except for weekends.

I commute around 85 miles a day. I'm going to invest in a second vehicle that way I can keep the miles off of my truck. Makes more sense to me to do that since I bought the Tacoma as our "family" ride when my little girl was born. Also a 2nd car like a Honda Civic or something of that sorts would help to save gas money.

40 miles round trip every day, geting about 15-16 mpg's and sometimes 300+ miles on weekends. Already have 35k and a little over a year. Thinking about getting a Sport Bike soon to drive around town.

DD for me too. 50+ miles per day round trip to work and back. 52K in 2.75 years of owning it. Other than the balance issues I have had for the last 4 months all has been fine as a daily commuter. 14.5-21 AMPG depending on my speed.

The Taco works well as a daily driver. You can see over other cars and mini-utes, never worry about potholes, drive onto a curb if needed... I drive 30 mi daily in mixed city/highway rush-hour traffic and get 18 mpg, air conditioning and all.

I used to take the train until I bought my 05 DC. Once I started driving it I never looked back to the train. 70 miles round trip per day in stop and go California traffic and still loving it.

40 miles round trip mon-thr with my truck. I work a 4-ten shift and hate it. Getting up at 5:30 AM each morning and not getting home until 6:45 PM doesn't give me any time after work.

I used to take the express bus 3x week but now because of it's schedule I cant' get my 10 hours a day in.

My DD is my Taco. I commute about 10 miles round trip to school and gym in the city. My Taco is a 4x4, supercharged with oversized tires so gas mileage sucks ball for me!! Well technically speaking, gas mileage does suck in the city regardless of vehicle being driven.

Okay, sure. Ultimately it boils down to personal preference. I enjoy riding my motorcycle, and a 250 is all the power my 120 pound ass needs.

I've gotten in way too many debates about this so i'll unsubscribe to this thread and leave it at that.

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents about fuel efficient commuting...but I guess you guys did too.
