Okay so I really want some bass with my music. I currently have the Rosen indash multimedia player. It does have rca preout. So I have sub control in the audio settings. I don't want to take anything apart in my truck so I'm looking at powered compact subs. I'm no audiophile so I would be happy if it sounded like the stock JBL system. I would really like it under the seat but if I have to I will mount it in the rear seat storage area. So what fits under our seats? Has anyone gone this route?

theres lot of threads on this, your limited on space under the passenger seat but there's plenty.

there is a bar that dips down under the passenger seat, if you remove it, or rotate it 180 degrees it will gain you enough space to fit a lot of stuff in there.

i slid a focal ibus 20 under my passenger seat with room to spare, except in height but it fits and allows free movement and no interference with any hardware.

while its no 10" or greater sub, it exceeded my expectations and fills in the lows very well. not dealing with a sub hogging up cab space or in the way, is worth it to me. esp when hauling around the dog. with your DC you have even more space to keep free...

The Sound Ordnance fits really nice behind the rear driver's side seat, and I think others have put it under the driver's seat but I didn't want to deal with it. I actually used some strips of high-density eggcrate packing foam under the sub and on the top and back of the sub (with 3M tape) and I didn't even need to mount it. It sits in there behind the rear seat snug as a bug, locked in by the rear seat back.

Yeah I decided that its gonna go behind driver side rear seats. Dont feel like cramming it under the seat. I really like the price of the sound ordnance but the look and design if the kicker hideaway. I'll be getting one of the two.

Can these hook up to stock deck and still work well or should be hooked to after market head unit with aftermarket amp

Yeah they can hook up to stock deck but I would imagine them sounding better with an aftermarket deck.

Correct, the built in amp only powers the built in subwoofer.

thanks, i'm trying to get a list together and it sounds like it will be in the $700+ range.

Did you do any trimming or drilling to run the amp wires through the factory storage bin? If its not to much trouble can you post pics?

    one more question,
i'm a access cab and i don't want to take up a lot of space so would there be any performance difference in putting the sub in the compartments under the rear seats vs under the driver seat?
    thanks for you're help

I just installed a Kicker Hideaway under the front passenger seat in my AC, (check my thread on it). You're not getting that under the rear seats without some hacking.

No trimming or drilling - wires are run under the edge trim along the side of the carpet. I'll try to snap a pic. I still need to shorten cables so its kind of a messy install.
