I have a 2010 SR5 and would like to put in a compass / thermometer instead of the garage door opener holder. Should I buy one from a dealer or what?

Is this the overhead console? I have a 2005 Tacoma Acces Cab that I am going to be fixing the compass portion this weekend (soldering two pieces is all but Toyota wants $950.00 for a new console, insane) and I would be willing to trade you that's what you're looking for? My interior is in a gray finish!!!

Sorry guys, from what I understand your trucks are not compatible. '05~'08 models used direct wiring for the thermometer to the console for temp, '09+ models use a can-bus communication line for the temp readout.

If you can wait, you can probably locate a console from an 05-09. Then all you have to buy from the dealership is the temp/compass module and swap it out. That is how I did it on my '09.

I have the tan interior and all I could get were grey consoles. But I found a local guy that does interior repair for the car lots and he was able to dye it to match.
