Hey guys.. I just picked up a 99 Tacoma with 285k kms on it.. Im looking to clean it all up and get it running better..

My plan is to seafoam the truck and then swap the plugs, wires, tranny fluid..

Im not sure what the best plan is for the Wires and plugs but I plan on using royal purple syncromax tranny fluild and most likley just some synthetic 5-30 oil.

Can you guys recommend what plugs and wires to use as well as anything else you think is necessary for a tune up?

Im not sure on the history of the truck so plan on seafoaming it and getting it running better.

    Its a 1999 Tacoma 4 banger SR5 extenda-cab..

    Thanks

Hey brother i just did mine if you can afford it pick up a hanyes manual for your truck at napa or advance has every fluid level you need. If its automatic you better not change the fluid in the tranny if you dont know if its been changed. I put royal purple in mine and lucas oil in the front rear and transfer case which is a must have. Buy a cheap pump at either place youll need it for the tranny and transfer case. I put toyota plugs back in mine they are cheap and need replaced every 30k but its whats made for the truck. You shouldnt need to replace the wire cause they are coil packs that plug onto the plug. Check the wires coming in if they arent blown out burned leave them be. Flush your raditor with a garden hose drain plug or valve on bottom passenger side.:)

PS change those three belts upfront every 50k too might not need it but wont every break on you when you least expect it.

It is a five speed so should I change the tranny fluid to RP syncomax? And do I just call toyota and get the plugs directly from them?

That's what I Put in mine it's been in for 5thousand shifts smooth and no issues. Just stop by your local dealers parts counter will have the plugs is stock. While your there there's a little check valve you can replace that's cheap and it will set the check engine light off once it's dirty part number 90917-10049 it's a check valve for the vacuum lines dirt cheap can't hurt to replace it.
