Do you think Toyota is paying the dealerships to do this ?

My best bet is that it was part of what you paid for the truck.

My guess is that it was factored in to the original price or the Dealer collects a small amount.

I think you paid for it when you purchased the truck.

I think the "free" complementary service for the first 2 years/24k miles is part of the truck pricing that Toyota does.

There is nothing "free" at car dealerships. You pay for it, factored into the buying price. For true warranty claims, the brand pays each dealership for the work at a lower price than wholesale.

Sister bought a 4 runner with free services. Moved to a different town and was told is with the selling dealership only. So I'm thinking is a dealership add on.

I wouldnt take my vehicle in for that, if they paid me $100 to bring it in.

The 2 year Toyotacare is for all Toyotas at any dealership. Some dealers offer their own service on top of that, then those would be dealer specific, but the first two years can be done at any dealership.

Will have to tell her the dealership in superior wi is telling her differently. I think she brought it there for the first service.

It's part of the price you paid for sure, but the dealers definitely get paid by Toyota for doing the service. That's why they estimate your mileage and harass you with phone call, emails and texts when maintenance is due.

So if the dealer "said" they did the work but clearly did not, they are stealing from Toyota ?
