Might not look as good as a pro but I wonder if the thick roll on stuff would stick?

I'll second the 303. I was messing around and wiped some on the bed and was surprised at how it cleaned up. Then I had to pick up bulk mulch the next day.

The composite bed is bulletproof and has been proven now for decades. Way stronger than steel. Aluminum bed would be a joke. Composite is a gift to us from Toyota.

I think the more scratches/dents in box, the better it looks. Its a pick up truck.

I never cared about the box in all my trucks. I do care a lot about the paint tho.

Hit mine with 100grit sander, then raptor liner. So far it feels really solid and looks brand new. Also it has a little texture now so it’s not as slippery as the stock surface

In some way it is stronger. I've already had rivnuts pull out of it. It wouldn't h

That's quite a project you got going on there, Stew. I'm assuming you sprayed it on?

Yes. Comes in a kit with the spray nozzle, just hook it up to a compressor. Super easy to spray on and very forgiving.

On my second gen i transported a warn winch to work in the bed of the truck, strapped down so it couldn’t move. Was about a 200 km drive on gravel roads, when i got there i almost shit myself the winch wore about halfway through the bed from vibrations.. since then i use a toyota bed mat or even a piece of plywood cut to shape for something heavy and pointy.

This was coming down Imogene Pass near Telluride CO. If you ever get the chance, check it out because it was amazing.

This looks fantastic! Does it seem fairly durable? I may have to do this some day as this is the kind of finish I'm wanting on the bed.

Luckily it was just my buddies water jug and I think it held up alright, but it sure did leave it's mark. This is what driving 60+ miles around the white rim road in canyonlands utah will do to the bed.

Good to know. I have some other projects I can use it on. Maybe I'll break down and try doing the bed and see what happens. Thanks!

It won’t rust through but it can wear through.

I have never seen a steel bed crack "the same?" ? LOL and I have had quite a few over the years, BTW The Ranger does not have an aluminum bed. There is no way a composite bed is stronger than steel..

.I would consider a GEN four IF they put a 4cyl turbo in the Tacoma and added a few niceties like a power locking tailgate, Hood struts, UPdated interior tech and design. 4 wheel disc brakes.Sunroof delete..Radar that works after a lift.....

Very reliable and quick SYNC 3 system No glitches with Android or those who suffer the iPhone.

FOr now, I am in a holding pattern. I will definitely buy the redesigned Ranger or the Tacoma. One of those will sit in my garage in a few short years. In the meantime I will lurk and keep up with Tacoma..My last four trucks were Tacomas. I was definitely a fanboi...until 3rd Gen......
