It's a light car on a light single axle trailer, so I estimate around 3000lbs with gear and such. Being single axle means it's a bit harder to get tongue weight perfect, but I try to adhere to the 10% rule so I think it's around 3-350lbs of weight on the ball. The XII springs only dropped the front maybe 1.25-1.5", same in the rear with the 4x4 leafs. I had a 1" block in the rear before to even it with the front, but towing with it, it was constantly on the bumpstops so I reluctantly took it off. It's a truck after all, and though I'd love a 3/3 or even 3/4 drop, I wouldnt have the utility I bought it for in the first place.

Well it sounds like a 3" drop in the rear wont work. Especially because I'm not notching it. Maybe I can get away with a 2" drop with low profile bump stops? Originally I was going to do a 5/3 drop. Now it would be a 5/2 but that might be a goofy look on the truck. Is your truck the 2.7 4?

Does anybody out there have lowering leaf springs? Not blocks but just leaf springs. Only company I have found out there selling them is Belltech . But they don't make them for our Tacoma's.

Was looking to do a 5/2 drop on my Tacoma. I want to get as much drop in front as possible and a little bit in back. But not to much so I can still tow/haul. Anybody do anything similar? Would be great to see how it looks if pictures can be posted. I was not sure if it would be a funky looking stance.

So I'm dropping my 2014 5-lug about 2" in the rear with lowered 4x4 leaf springs and using the QA1 adjustable shocks. But I'm trying to figure-out the correct QA1's to getfor my drop. Anybody know?

I have leafs from a 2016 (non-TRD PRO) and it lowered my '13 RC about 1.25".

Doesnt XII still sell QA1's? I dont see their lowering kits anymore, but the shocks are still listed on their site.

Yes Xii does-thanks. I want to get closer to a 2" drop on the rear with 4x4 leafs. I was looking at some aftermarket leaf spring companies that offer them for the 2nd gen tacoma's. They say there springs give an additional 1" to 2" optional rise in height over the stock oem 4x4 leaf springs...so in theory am I right in thinking its going to give me another 1" to 2" drop then? So a total of 2.25" to 3.25" drop?

So I was able to pick-up some 6-lug 4x4 leafs off a 3rd gen tacoma to use on my 2014 5-lug. Wanted to ask if anybody knows realistically how much drop it will give me? I was told about a 2" drop??

i was also told 2" and you need 67-69 camaro rear shocks. xii sells them, but you can find them cheaper. i also found 93 mustang shocks to be roughly in the same ext/comp lengths. if you want adjust-ability without paying for aluminum you can go with strange steel adjustable shocks S6000EM. qa1 part numbers are nonadjustable tn703 or adjustable ts703.shocks from what i read should be 19" extended and 12.25 compressed roughly.

I know this thread is kind of dead....BUT I just recently installed a 5” lowering block and 4x4 leafs (I’m pretty low) but now my issue is my rear shock mount is about 1” or less from the ground. Has anyone found any way to fix this?? Other then bigger wheel and tire.
