As you said, from the factory, and no mass produced bike I know of ships running a tune for 110. Once you have the bike you can tune it however you want and, as I said, emissions are no issue.

Then show me the data because there isn't any posted in this thread. Anecdotal evidence is worthless. Show me some logs or dyno pulls or something to show that 91 provides any meaningful improvement.

    You’re in Canada.

In the US a 2 stroke bike is sold as a competition bike now, they are usually ordered at time of purchase. Even the ol yamaha jet ski, the stand up, is still made, just not sold like a new 4 stroke. Most fresh water places have banned 2 strokes due to a fake narrative and report about pollution of the water. Only yard equipment is openly sold in the US with 2 smokes in em, and prolly not for much longer.

    A few.
Those aren't the 2 strokes of old. The engines look like a 4 stroke and sound more like one as well. Where is the Yamaha banshee and blaster? Do you see any 2 stroke side by sides?

I would love to post the truth about octane, power, and fuel....

but none of y’all would listen and would most assuredly try to poke holes in something that was written and figured out long before we all were alive... just like oil...

oh, 11.8:1 comp MAY or MAY NOT need higher octane fuel... more factors like cooling, combustion chamber design, lift and duration, ECU and sensor coding..... these ain’t 69 muscle cars..

2 strokes are still very popular in snowmobiles. Polaris doesn't even make a 4 stroke model.

Actually 2-strokes are still available and are going through a bit of a renaissance right now. And my dirtbike isn't air cooled, it has a radiator. It's the stage 2 cam coupled with the piston that makes it run on 110. And it will climb the side of a house! from KTM USA website-thumbnail_IMG_0647.jpg

My owners manual says the recommended octane is 87. If that is what the manufacture calls for, who the hell am I to question it? Only time I ever ran anything higher was when I ran a car at the track and bumped the timing to 18°BTC to ring out the best possible time. Outside of that, regular it is.

On the flipside, I read somewhere that red bull might be a good option. Might have to give that a try!

Ive seen far, far worse on this site go without anyone blinking an eyelash. Actually, in thinking about it that doesn’t even apply because as far as I know no one said anything even close to being ban worthy. Maybe I missed something or they know something I don’t but oh well, whatever. . .

Manul states 87 or higher As stated in my post that started this thread the engine runs smoother on 93. Less vibration and it is quieter. Is it worth it? Probably not. Is there a potential ROI? Probably not. Does it make the Truck a better experience? Maybe a little. Its probably costing me about 20 bucks more a month. I use Mobil rewards and they give double points for the 93, so maybe more like 12 to 15 bucks a month more. So it may 200 bucks extra a year.

    Use what works for you.
    I can tell the difference in my 2 , 4 , 6 cylinder and 10 cylinder engines.
The main reason I run 91 octane is the non-eth
