I installed new plugs and did a compression test the other day on my 2000 2.7. Warm engine with all plugs removed gave 185, 180, 185 and 200 psi at 1100 ft. Motor had 296291 miles.

I gapped new Denso plugs at .030". Old Densos have a .040-.042" gap and have 48k miles on them. What's your opinion on the spark plugs being a bit rounded? I do a little bit of pinging around 2200-2500 RPM when I give a little bit of throttle. Is this a sign that the pinging is coming from certain cylinders? #4 has a little oil on it for some reason. Engine runs great, no CEL's and I get ~21 mpg with 31's and 4.30 gears.
