    Hi everyone,

How do you perform compression testing on the 4.0 V6? Specifically what type of compression tester do you need to use? I had previously rented one from a local auto parts store and it came with the flexible hose connector. It seemed almost impossible to get that to thread into the cylinder without cross threading or getting it stuck.

I did a quick search and didn't find anything specific so I figured I would ask. Btw, I am in the middle of replacing my head gasket so I can't do it at the moment but have been wising I did it prior to the install to have the reassurance on the state of the bottom end.

    thanks...

My flexible hose one works just fine with the right adapter on the end, thread gently and it will go in.

Thanks. I am kicking my self in the you know what for not trying. Now all I can think about is what the compression per cylinder was on the motor before I started doing the head gasket replacement.
