Does $622 for a compustar G15 Pro system installed with two like remotes seem high. These things can't be that hard to install correctly I was told they have to flash the device for specific options/vehicle etc. I can rebuild motors and differentials but not a fan of soldering wires in tight spaces. For that kind of money I may reconsider. The only other two options are Best Buy (don't really trust) and another shop that only install Alltra ?? brand. Any recommendations ?

I've installed 3 compustars in my life and they are fairly easy, except that you need to program the bypass for your key, this is above and beyond most DIY at home.

I would say get it done professionally incase of an insurance claim, its good to have a paper trail for that. 600$ sounds steep but thats our price for the good remotes at my dealership.

    I have a compustar.
Don’t have power locks so I went with the cheaper one but has distance. It’s just a disc with a button. It works really well but being a standard it was more expensive and is kinda a pain to set up every night.
Mine was 370.00$ 6 yrs ago.

thanks for the feedback, they said there was $60 diff between the Pro/Prime remotes but the Pro's were diff more robust and water re
1.) Is the programming done via laptop and does it require special programming and wire connections ?

2.) Went to start truck this morning and mirrors were frosted. Can heated mirrors be incorporated to come on with remote start ?

I had a compustar remote start 2 way remote system installed on my 2013 at bestbuy. Worked great with a lot of range on the remote. Got it as a deal of the day installed for 350 about 3 years ago. I'd say about once a month best buy runs a really good deal of the day on a remote start system. I saw a 2 way viper system on sale for $250 + install about 2 weeks ago.

Most bestbuys will have at least one store in a large radius that has 1 or 2 guys that specialize in just doing remote start installs. So more likely than not they will do a decent job.

Edit: it was a viper system installed 12/2015 came out with tax and install $259.63.

$200 installed + tax. These are one of the deals I was talking about. Not sure if it has all the features you require but it's 2 way with long range.

I got quoted around the same price as you did; except 599 + 25 tax_

I pieced it all together and can get the entire setup for around $100 for the alarm and bypass_ +250-300 for the remote_ So you're really looking at paying 200-250 for installation. So I figure if I installed it myself I could save the 200-250 dollars.

However since its such a headache that 200-250 dollars may be worth paying for.
