    Update 3/29/18

Manged to buy a used 23 zero tent. This tent was a demo/ field unit. Customer service with 23zero is top notch and I highly recommend.

I designed a rack for the tent that ties into my shock cage. I don't want to risk potentially cracking my glass fenders if my rack was on the bed rails. This should be fabricated in the next couple of weeks!

    IMG_20180320_113055.jpg

The tent will sit a little lower than what is shown in this pic. I needed to support the tent somehow to see if my design made sense.

What’s funny is I have a design very similar to yours I am going to use in my bdcage as well for my rtt.

I've been tempted to do my Prinsu in tan as well. Always thought that would look sharp on my brown truck.

It just Rustoleum spray liner. If I want to change it, I can break out the palm sander. It used to be black. The benefits of having it plain aluminum.

Looks great, and X2 on the welds. Curious as to why this style gusset instead of all the way to the upright?

Thanks, I did the design and my newly met acquaintance did all the welding/ tube bending . He used to work for Camburg and Spacex as a welder/ fabricator. He is one of the few here in Utah with another long travel Taco.

I use this style gusett in my design projects for work. It mainly is stemmed from finite element analysis (FEA) in that stresses are infinite in re-entrant corners (nerdy explanation). This is also common in a lot of offshore design. It allows water to flow though the structure and also gives more flexibility to the fabricator in that they don't have to notch the gusett corner for the fillet weld if it was installed after a main section (tube in this case) was installed.

Took the Tent out for a quick trip to the newfoundland mtns (80 miles west of SLC). We only stayed the night due to upcoming work trips, but it was nice to experience a RTT.

    **Update 6/21/2018

Went to a buddies shop and he let me take my rig apart and help with the TC cam tab gusetts. Not gunna lie, this is a lot of work. It was a long 12 hrs. I did the all the disassembly and removal of the old cam tabs and he welded them on. All you have to do is remove your coilover and un do the lower control arms at the spindle and the frame. No need to disassemble the entire front end.

Hopefully this keeps my alignment while going offroad.

My front passenger tabs were pretty rolled over. I think this was from when I hit a rock at 30mph a couple years ago.

I found it best to use a 5/16" drill bit for the spot welds. On the first tab I accidently drilled through the frame mounts but I am not worried about it. Once you drill through, take a big chizle and a BFH and start pounding away. You may get lucky and only have to hit it a couple of times.
