For you guys running front armor what are yalls setups? What did you choose and why so (functionality, aesthetics, budget) explain. It's about that time of year to get some great deals on armoring up and I'm barely finding anything worthwhile for our turd gens. I want to see everyone's personal choices might make deciding easier. A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
I am running a C4 Fab front bumper. It is a heavy gauge bumper that look and feels like it can take a beating. It takes up to a 12K lb winch so getting out of sticky situations won't be a problem. I really like it and would highly recommend it. 3Q6A3861.jpg

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
I have an Expedition One bumper, full RCI skids, and All Pro apex sliders. I don't have any complaints about any of them. I would say sliders are most important, followed by skids and then bumper.

Any pictures of it on your taco? Guess I'm looking for a good Black Friday deal also haven't seen c4 fab post any sales since vet day which was 15% off. Love their design though. I've already decided to go with their high clearance rear when the time comes just looking at the front for now though. Unless they run a hell of a promotion for both front and rear sets...nudge nudge wink @C4 Fabrication

I quoted them in a post before and they said something along the line that there's tacomaworld discounts. And that there would be a black friday sale. Also keep an eye on the group buy forums for deals.

Talk about setting the bar high... Sweet Jesus I love that truck.

For anyone that hasn't turned their rig into a raptor chasing monster, I think that bumper is too big (but it was a damned close second in my choices).

The POU for my taco is simple. It's a dual purpose rig that gets me into the back country where I then deploy my fun gear (dirt bike, camp gear, guns, etc), but it also needs to be an economical(ish) ride to work (considering wear and tear, rubber, fuel, etc).
I'll be staying at or under 3" of lift for some time, but have the need for a winch and some real protection for when that trip out into the woods gets nasty, or when I do some overlanding to go WAY out there. It's also a work truck for my small acreage. It will pull trees and do all sorts of hauling on a small scale.

This is where the CBI front and rear bumpers and sliders come in. High clearance, subtle, beefy, and not a damned rolling billboard with 30 initialized cutouts so that anyone within 100 yards knows you got this stuff at XYZ Fab...

It may or may not be the "best", but fit the bill for me the best for my uses.

There is 2016 cbi bumper install thread in a different section of the forum where we have some good pics. I went with cbi because I like the design and it's very stout. I like the way it wraps under the front section and bolts from the bottom as well as the sides and front. Basically on 3 sides very secure. Some bumpers only mount front or front/side. With out the bottom caputre it MAY be more likely to bend upward if impacted in that plane. I got mine in aluminum because I don't intend to have any high speed or hard hits. I had a rock crawler, this will not be one. This is a DD that will hit trails when needed.

Thanks for the shoutout Carlos! We need to get a set of our new front bumper mount frame supports before you start really pulling hard with that winch! PM your shipping info and we will send out a set to you.
Here is what I'm taking about, they wrap around the frame and attach with the sway bar bolts and a 1/2" bolt we provide. It helps strengthen the fairly thin bumper mounting points.

Sorry we do not plan on running any package promotions on front and rear bumpers together. the 15% off Vet day sale was for fronts and Rears will be on sale starting this Friday for our Black Friday sale.
