I didn't mean it like that haha I meant if you think the Tacoma is outdates go buy a dang Lexus since they are designed to ride like a Cadillac and Toyota updates them constantly.

If I wanted something smooth and easy to drive I would not have bought a TACO. I hunt, fish, 4wheel and I like to go beyond all the Subies and VW off road wagons. I don't need some wamby pamby woosie mobile. Careful complaining otherwise pretty soon we will have independent front and rear like the Exploders. If you want a smooth gentle ride then buy a car or cross over. Simple. I don't want a leather steering wheel wood ingrained dash blah blah blah. More shit to fuck up when you're off the hwy. I miss the manual windows and vinyl floor of my ranger.

The tacoma is due for an update. Where is the direct injection? Where is the 6 speed auto, the updated rear suspension, the modern projector headlights? Lots of room for improvment, I love mine, but would like some improvements. (Direct injection 2.7 with a 6 speed manual)

I read an article that actually knocked the tacoma for not having as much chrome as other trucks. At that point they lost all credibility in my book.

Agreed. My first car was a 1995 pathfinder SE-V6. That thing was bulletproof. And this is exactly why I bought my new Tacoma now instead of waiting for the next generation which will undoubtedly be 'softer'.

I don't want all the luxuries of a car in a truck. I want a truck... when you define a truck it isn't "luxurious, lushish ride" it's rough and tough

Toyota to improve the ride could seriously just change spring rates and valving on the shcoks for a better ride. I do think the Tacoma could use a few changes but it really is pretty modern for a small truck.

not that Toyota is going to do anything about it but it's nice to think that some shitty press will motivate them to bring a more up to date product to market. but, as already mentioned, if there ain't no decent competition why would a company spend shareholder profits on improving something that will sell regardless? we are the Beliebers of the Toyota Kingdom.

    Too few to list.
I tried to avoid my Tacoma but I just can't do it! It's too much fun to drive. Like someone said, the Tacoma is a little outdated but it works and I wouldn't need a mechanic to tell me about my Tacoma as I doubt it will ever see one.

Hmm. Sounds like good advice. Avoid getting a dependable vehicle with legendary resale value becuase it rides like a truck.

The fanboys are just making excuses for the Tacoma. Yes it's the best midsize truck left on the market, but it's mediocre at best. Toyota could do better, much better. We loyal Toyota buyers deserve better!

Nobody is saying they cannot do better. I am just saying it is a good product. If they can give me more for the same price as a consumer of course I would want that.

A lot of CR is subjective. I always felt Honda interiors and materials were much better than Toyotas. Honda has no truck to compete with the Tacoma so of course my choice was the Tacoma.

The Nissan Frontier looks old fast. I didn't like it.

Yes, Toyota has to work on the following:
    • Fuel Mileage
    • Full Body Redesign
    • Upgraded Suspension configuration
    • That damn taco tic
    • Better paint
    • Better inside tech for the techies
    • better interior design and materials
    • more head room
    • better adjustment on seats
    • spongy brakes
    • better underbody protection from the elements
    • Better packages
    • ATF Dip stick

I would really like to slap who ever thought it was a good idea to have gray or tan as the 2 only color options for the interior... Black should be the primary color for a trucks interior since light colors get dirty fast.
