CR is out of its element when reviewing trucks. Keep in mind they also hated the first gen:

Consumer Reports can go suck dicks in the parking lot. The Tacoma's resale value speaks for itself...

Black would be just as bad though wouldn't it? Black shows everything on the paint and when I wear a black shirt it's usually dirty as hell by the end of the day.

The black will show some dust but hide stains... our accords interior remains to look clean and all my previous cars with black interior didnt show any dirt. But they also had leather seats

Didn't read the whole thread, but CR is correct in calling the Tacoma dated. It feels cheap and plasticky inside, and it doesn't have the best road manners. I like mine for what it is anyway :turtleride:

Am I remembering right but didn't they pick the TRD 4X4 to test and then complain that it was a stiff ride?

This is good, If Toyota sells too many Tacoma's my Tacoma won't be worth anything. Less is good. CR is about who paid the most money get's the best review.

Bullshit. Consumer Reports BUYS it's vehicles on the open market, just like we do. Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, Trucks! all get FREE vehicles to test, plus they have to keep advertisers happy. Consumer Reports is on our side, Toyota isn't.
I don't understand why T/W members are pissed off at Consumer Reports for telling the truth about the Tacoma, but not at Toyota for foisting the same mediocre design on us year after year after year?

My 2014 single cab 4x4 is my 7th Toyota truck since the mid 80's. To me it is quieter, smoother and more comfortable than any of the others. I bought it because of its simplicity. I wanted a piece of the rock before it melts away.....the last of the Mohicans

3 inch lift with Toytec Boss and All Pro UCA's up front. AP expedition leafs with Bilstien 5100 shocks in the back. 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Max tires. All Pro skids, rear bumper and sliders, Hidden winch mount with XRC 8000 winch. Dual Optima batteries with IBS combiner/isolator and solar. CMC. Auto sliding rear window mod, hidden CB, CVJ axles and plenty of other little mods.
Consumer reports...what's the point. This is the group that once rated an Isuzu as a POS when giving the Honda version of the same vehicle top points. They should stick to blenders.

Consumer reports SUX and anyone who subscribes supports their theories. They don't use any sort of an industry standard to "Test" and "Judge" anything.

Resale value of a vehicle should say enough about it. Demand of the consumer. Go and try to buy a Taco used and see how much depreciation exists.... Lowest in class....

That's how I judge a vehicle...... By the consumer vs. a magazine that isn't consumer based
