Said it before, no chance I’d take a composite bed with spray liner. It’s essentially vandalism.

Good old Roseville Toyota. They’re a running joke at this point.

I configured a good spec on a TRD Off Road and it came out to $50K and only gets 23MPG highway, lol! Depending on how that hybrid I4 comes in mileage wise, it might be time to look at another platform.

The pricing is effing madness though, the Trailhunter is going to be over $60K. I paid $28,600 for my 05 that is still going strong which is a good thing since I am waiting until 2026, this will be interesting for awhile.

For those that can’t afford to pay cash or put a big payment down, with around 7% interest your taking $1k a month payment for a mid grade OR 4x4.

The only thing more insane than that is the people defending the price of it

Toyota flushed "Affordable long lasting pickup truck" down the toilet years ago.

It's like now they market their trucks to middle aged men with too much money.

These trucks are becoming more and more unobtainable for the younger population.

This. I am looking for a truck to do truck things and not a vanity cruiser - bed, towing, 4WD, bare bones, simple and long lasting, affordable. Doesn't need to out accelerate a sedan, and needs only enough torque to adequately pull loads at the weight rating of the truck. Government regs on efficiency and emissions are pushing to more complicated engines, but if it was only that, the truck would still be affordable. Hey, if they sell like hot cakes, then they are "affordable to the buyers" but it's overkill if you just need a truck to do truck things. The Nissan Frontier may be the last 'old school' mid size truck out there. Simple V6.

Too much... Not enough space to tell!!! :-)
    Prices are insane!!
The people needs to be smart and wait... If they start experiencing overstocks in the dealerships, they will start providing rebates to the MSRP.
Looks what is happening in Ford dealerships with the F150's.
But if everybody start buying like crazy paying this ridiculous MSRP + the freaking "Fair Market Value" dealership fee, prices never gonna go down.

Toyota will probably do another artificial shortage selling tactic to ensure they at least get MSRP for every truck.

They did it with the last 2 year run of the 3rd gens. There was no chip shortage, Toyota just wanted to maximize their profit on each truck.

Why need to sell 5 trucks when you could make the same profit margins selling 1 truck.

For the prices they want for the 4th gen, the truck better be a home run when it comes to quality and reliability. If they fall short people will just go and buy full size American for the same price.

At that point what are really gaining by buying a toyota?

Negotiated prices will come down significantly in time like they did with the Tundra, and now even the RAV4. Not saying Jeep 4xe or Ford Lightening territory. But there’s not enough people in this country to buy $52,000 Tacomas year in year out.

My take is this is Toyota trying to capture the ADMs for themselves and leave room for incentives once demand wanes.

I also think the Pro will get Capstone’d and see the biggest discounts first.

In a world where many people buy based on monthly payment, how many people are really willing to spend 1k+ a month on a basic mid-size pick up?

exactly I prefer a Tacoma but when a Silverado mid tier costs the same as the off road it makes it hard to justify it with that going on

I think Toyota is just playing the consumer and market. High interest rates are a factor.

slowly trickling out info on the 4th gen while waiting for rates to get better. By the time the hybrids come out, they are hoping rates are better so they can sell a crap load of trucks.

Totally agree. And worst case scenario since they have their own finance company, they can drop their own rates if need be.

maybe but with all these youtubers showing a lot of trucks sitting on the dealer lots I think it is going to be hard to move new trucks when dealers have to bottom out the other inventory to move it. But who knows the world is in a crazy place with all this stuff.

Initial Tacos won't be on the lots long, after that who knows. Like some have said, Toyota will just play supply chain/production game with dealers so that real customers will have to pay at least MSRP( or higher) to get a truck they want or need.

They priced a fully loaded 4th gen Off-Road really close to what a discounted '23-'24 Tundra limited would be. They put all the bells and whistles on the Taco and didn't update the Tundra barely. Makes it a tough choice when we are looking at the dealer looking at trucks.
