The '24 SR5 costs more than the '23 TRD OR, even after adding LED headlights to the '23

Cool, now see how much that new truck costs to get the same equipment the old one has. Find the package to get back the rear slider or inverter.
    Hint: It is $4,355.

    2023 base TRD sport: $41,225
    2024 becomes $48,450

Don't worry guys, the fourth gen is on a new shared TNGA platform utilized by multiple vehicles to save costs!

We will see those price reduction savings any day now!

I tried configuring a sport since I honestly have never used my crawl control or locker (yet).

I think ill be holding on to my off road until it gets recalled for frame rust - then ill trade it in :anonymous:

I hope it has zero teething issues, but if it does they’ll likely be a completely separate set of problems from the Tundras.

It could be the best engine and transmission Toyota has ever made, and it could be the worst. Only one way to find out

The 2023 doesn't have LED head lights or the Coil Rear Suspension which the '24 does as standard. There are probably some safety things - I believe the '24 Tacoma has BSM and RCTA as standard where you have to add them to a '23. So add another $1300 to the '23 price to get "equal" features to the stock '24.

What's weird is that digging into the spec sheets - the 5 ft bed Sport "Upgrade" package lists the "AC power inverter" as being a part of that package. The 6 ft bed Upgrade package doesn't list the inverter.

However the spec sheet also says that the '24 TRD Sport comes with a 120V/400W power supply as standard - the '23 Tacoma lists a 120V/400W deck mounted outlet as standard. Anyone know the deal here?

I think that one is a Chevy and one is a Toyota. You get what you pay for.

It’s looking like the Pro only comes with the iso seats.

This is all part of the $2,870. Toyota is double dipping otherwise.

There are several new features on the new truck yes, but Toyota moved some not new stuff up to packages.

Sure, but it also comes with a lot of things the old truck doesn’t have

Just makes any of these “I built it with the same features as my third gen” posts kinda silly

JFC...............WTF do you have to compare features with then, a 2nd gen?! Its like throwing tennis balls at tanks with some people.

You could compare the prices with features *while noting the things you’re getting in addition to the same features you had on the 3rd gen*

but saying “well it’s $2400 more expensive but comes with x,y,and z that my truck lacks” doesn’t give you the excitement of complaining as much

    Uh huh.

Its no wonder you get flamed here more than a Japanese Zero late in WWII.

I’m just saying that accurate comparisons make more sense than inaccurate and incomplete comparisons.

Exactly this. I think that's the smart play even if it's just to wait for a few years for kinks to be worked out.
