The hidden key inside the fob will lock/unlock the door.

I tried that and it just unlocked the doors again. I read something's about disabling the proximity sensor on the door handle, the other day. I'll try that next and see if it works

Edit: I played with the door lock settings, in the guages(switched the lock/unlock, in park) and that did the trick

Hey, from a Honda fan here. i have the 2016 Off rd 4x4 taco with 3k miles, bought new. I was crazy surprised Honda refreshed the Ridgeline. I did sit in one but did not test drive. I agree with you on push button start, amazing this is standard 100%. on the volume knob, you have to get used to using the steering wheel controls on those honda infotainment centers. and the fingerprint collection screen, my 2016 taco seems no better than my 3 hondas.

That being said, i needed a truck. thats why i went with the Taco. the bed in the RL is too shallow for real truck use. the Ridgeline is a perfect blend between SUV and light truck but its user will have to be specific to only needing an occasion truck use hauling some mulch, etc.

this is just my opinion, if you dont need HD truck use , keep the ridgeline and get used to the few tweaks. I had to adjust to some annoyance on the taco. you might lose a lot of money on the deal trading now. btw, actual mileage for me 18.5, on my hondas i get exactly what the sticker suggest. other words, 38 on hwy posted on civic and get 38 on hwy. taco far off from whats posted. just another adjustment.

If it were me I would keep the ridge line. If you don't "need" a Tacoma then don't get it.
As stated above your wallet must be taking a hit. Going from a new f150 to a new 40k plus ridge line then thinking of a 35-40k Tacoma would probably take another hit to your pocket.

Owning a Tacoma isn't worth rolling negative equity into a vehicle.

And I'm saying this because I traded a 2015 Sierra in on my Tacoma. I didn't trade it because I wanted something new but because it had 8500 miles on it and the frame was rusting every where's and it spent more time in the shop than in my driveway.

Keep the ridgeline for a year or 2 and get your monies worth

I have a 16' taco offroad and rides like a real truck. My taco feels bigger than what it really is when driving...... much greater feeling of safety. My fiance sells Hondas and Ive test driven the Black Edition several times for long periods. I can attest honda 3.5 liter is a true gem and will blow out any Toyota, GM or Nissan motor period. Honda 6 speed tranny is same as the MDX including the torque vectoring. So essentially you are getting Acura MDX technology in a Honda for much cheaper price. Ridgeline drives like a minivan if that something you are into...... feels lower than the pilot for some reason.

Biggest reasons I havent traded in my Taco. Ridgeline doesnt tow as much, low ground clearance, too damn expensive for Black edition at well over $40k with employee discount. I highly doubt Ridgeline will have such an incredible resale value like Taco.

2016 Tacoma are the cheapest you can buy this truck. As of right now Frontier Pro can be had for same price as Taco offroad. I believe the taco offroad will have a serious price increase in the coming years over $40k is highly feasible.

Pick up 2016 Tacoma off road for cheapest as possible and if youre concern about resale get extended warranty. You will have a cheap true 4x4 truck with incredible resale value and looks soo damn hot.

    No brainer guys come on!!!

    Just my $.02

Do what makes you happy. I don't think you should worry about losing money. The only thing is it kinda sounds like you don't really know what's going to make happy.

I bought a Ridgeline, and am not a member of the Ridgeline forum. I joined this forum, but don't own a Tacoma. Well, not yet, anyway. My original plan was to get an F150 Limited, and grab a used Tacoma for cabin runs, but the F150 is just too damned big, and used-ish Toyotas are too expensive. So, I split the difference and got a Ridgeline and will get an SR trim Tacoma this winter. The price for both won't be lots higher than a single Limited, and I get to add cool stuff to my Tacoma that I can't (and wouldn't) add to my Ridgeline.

I knew what each truck was before I made the final fork in my decision to get them over the F150. The Ridgeline is a Pilot with a bed...perfect for me. I do lots of highway driving and still need a bed. The Tacoma is a cool little truck that I can add bits to in order to make it better at getting to where my cabin will be.

My question was if it was from a reply or the entire thread? Not a big deal... just curious.
