CONFUSED & FRUSTRATED

Your description of it happening when the tranny is cold, (low) and not when warm (expands) leads me to think you are still low on fluid. Either they did not fill it at all (some dealers only use the computer to check it), or they did not fill it properly...

Did your work order show how much fluid was added...?? If it doesn't....I'd say they did NOT fill it.

 

I get quite noticeable jerking at lower speeds if you hit the gas or take your foot off too fast. Truck also jerks when braking below 1500 RPM. I even get it in 5th at highway speeds if I press the gas too quickly. Feels like there is a lot of slop in the driveline and you're feeling it catch. It is definitely annoying but I don't think toyota will change it....

Just have to be extremely smooth with it. Definitely more so than most other vehicles.

 

You take them for a ride, it jerks and acts up, and they still tell you this? Time to go up the ladder. I forget who it is you are supposed to call to start a case with Toyota, but that's your next step. Sorry.

Like I previously noted I'm at the dealer now because it worn drive when I put in gear. As I'm killing time, I walked the lot and they have 25 new Tacomas sitting on their lot. I guess I don't wonder why.

 

I am sure he is still paying good money for it even if it is a lease, l would be pissed if it were not operating normal.

 

There is a TSB on the Manual too but its for sticking in gear.

 

Have a friend ride with you videoing with your phone, stereo off so the engine rpm can be heard. Record the problem so you can avoid the whole "could not replicate" thing.

 

Seriously bro, trade that bitch in while youre there, you are never gonna be happy now , dump it for a 4 runner trail, about the same price, and you will thank yourself in the end, whatever you do man, good luck to you , it really sucks you hate $41+k truck. Dump it bro. Dump it now.
