Confused with lift kits... 2017 Tacoma - is there a one-stop solution?

Looking to level the truck, and add 2-3 inches of lift (so perhaps a 2" front and 1" rear" - or thereabouts).

Is there a "kit" I could order, that is recommended? I have zero confidence in my ability to adequately research the millions of recommendations through the threads. My mechanical inclination and understanding is nearly nil.

Is there a "kit" on Amazon or elsewhere that someone could point me to? I'd have a shop install... looking to keep less than $500-600 if possible.

I have spent hours researching, and feel just as lost as when I started - all I know is that I likely don't want a simple spacer/block set.

    Thanks, Ken

You're not getting a proper non-spacer lift for $5-600, especially with a shop install. Eat top ramen and save up. OME, Icon, etc. lift by themselves is $1,200. That's without install. Budget at least $2k if you're having a shop do it.

    Buy once, cry once.

If you’re not installing yourself then I’d recommend buying through a local offroad/4x4 shop and having them install. Keeps the conversation easier if they make a mistake and can’t blame you for bringing your own parts.

Can’t go wrong with an Old Man Emu kit or Bilstein 6112 up front and OME Dakar’s our back.

Thanks for the replies... I was budgeting $500-600 for the kit alone, and then another $500-600 for the install (trying to keep total around $1000)...

If the thought of researching a lift on your own is that much out of the question, go to a local shop and have them buy you a lift they recommend and have them install it.

That’s probably not going to be enough.

Not gonna happen unless you go with spacers. $2K is more realistic man.

Depends on what you want to do.

You can get 2" of lift out of 5100's up front and do a small spacer in the back and add 5100's. I believe 5100's all around cost $350 and not sure on a 1" spacer out back.

People bark about spacer lifts because there are guys who run 3+ inch spacer lifts on stock shocks and they get over extended and damage stuff.

If you are just needing more clearance for mild trails and run slightly bigger tires, mild spacer lifts are fine especially if you're upgrading to 5100's or better.

Most folks on here are hardcore or mall hardcore. So take what suggestions you get with a grain of salt. Including mine. :D

Believe it or not there are kind souls here on TW that will help you with your install for beer/burgers/laffs... Ya might make a wheelin' bud too. Hit up your regional forum and see.

If you're not doing the install yourself budget $125 - 250 per corner depending on labor rates in your area

in the same boat (but willing to spend more) looking at Dobinson's right now. shit looks legit. kit is complete. no Frankenstein between shock and spring brands and what not. I like the teraflex setup as well... but they don't seem to have springs (coil or leaf)

Bilstein 5100's all around, front shocks set at next highest from the top, and add OME dakars in the back. $800. Rides like a champ. Install will be free when you look on local FB pages for tacoma fan club type things, join the group and ask for help for the install. Any number pf people will help you out. I would if you lived near me. People love turning wrenches! Pretty easy install actually.

    Just my 2 cents.

As mush as I like mine, dont set 5100’s all the way up on stock springs, Bilstein doesnt recommend it either. 3rd click up works great, even off-road.

Bilstein 5100s. No need for better shocks if you just want to mall crawl or go on fire service roads.
