Confusion on wheels and rim sizes

I understand how the offset and backspacing of a rim works but im just confused on what exactly tells you what rim size fits on the tire.

I am planning to get some 285/75 r16 all terrain pro comp tires and was planning to get these rims for them.

None of those ones will fit your truck because they do not have the correct bolt pattern. Your truck has a 6x5.5 (6x139.7) bolt pattern.

All of the ones listed on that page are 5-lug.

will they fit the tire..I completely didn't notice that they were 5 lug, thanks for the heads up.

 

So you are looking at the 16x10's? That's too wide of a rim for 285/75/16's.

16x8's are the way to go.

Also if you want to fit that tire size you will need a 3" lift.

 

No, I was looking at the 16x8s...just making sure they did fit..

Yep 16x8 is a good pick. You just need to find one with a 6x5.5 bolt pattern.
