    Hey everyone,

I’m getting kind of sick of going to corporate, big chain alignment places full of techs that just know toe-n-go and don’t do aftermarket or lifted trucks with custom alignment numbers. I’m looking for any places that do Offroad trucks / Tacoma alignments and know their stuff. Any places around or in CT? Willing to travel for a great alignment. Thanks

I also would like a second opinion here.. In CT, I was going to professional tire in Shelton, guy did a great job but last time I was there I had my brand new wheels and tires mounted from the retarded goonies there and they scratched the living shit out of my wheels and the guy shrugged his shoulders and said, nothing I can do. So, in the end don't go to professional tire in Shelton!

Ha, similar experience here. Brand new F5 wheels and new KO2s. Dinged one of the wheels and denied it when I called him out. He also forgot to torque down the cam bolts on the LCA so I rode around for 2 weeks while the left side got loose and made noises. Went today to a town fair tire, and they were cool and the alignment guy called me into the bay and I sat there while he did it. He mentioned the left cam bolt was loose too. Didn't get perfect numbers, but definitely good enough and I watched him torque down the cam bolts to 135 ft-lbs. I don't get why there aren't that many off road places around us that do this s#@t all the time. Seems out west its way more prevalent.

I used Firestone and got the lifetime because the Tech is good in Newington one.

I would call Truck Toyz in Rocky Hill and see who they’d recommend. They specialize in lifts and mods and would be able to point you in a good direction

Danbury has Extreme Vehicle Builders. Never been there, but I know people who have used them and have never heard complaints. They're a little Brodozer/Coal Roller though, at least they were a few years ago

I haven't had a good experience with these guys. I have spoken to them numerous times and have refused to call back with any information... That was once I was finally able to get a hold of them...

Might have to give them a shot. Needed a last minute ASAP alignment and went to Monro in Naugatuck. My steering wheel is like 25 degrees off... Emailed them to see if they'll make it right, everyone was very nice there. We'll see

    bringing this thread up again.

I am trying to fit 33s on my 1st gen tacoma. (2.5-3" lift with SPC UCA) I have called all the chains plus several mom/pop shops. No one is willing to help me increase castor beyond spec. is this a CT thing? There are so many trucks on this forum being able to have shops increase their castor, not just to clear wheels but for preference. Does anyone know of a shop in CT, MA, or RI that is willing to do a quality alignment while increasing castor?

    I'm contemplating doing this myself.

Yes I saw that. Nice it worked out for you. The shops will align my lift to SPEC. I'm driving with my lift at SPEC right now. The problem is getting a shop to purposely increase castor beyond SPEC. no one so far has been willing to do that. I'll hit up the shop you referenced.

You're the man. They're the first ones to say that they are willing. Scheduled me in for next week. Was hoping to get it this weekend but oh well.

Yeah, made an appointment to increase my caster to 3.5-4 degrees. I explicitly requested that and the shop just did a regular alignment within spec. Wtf? I told them I didn't ask for that. They went back and redid my alignment with caster set to 3.3ish on both sides. They were extremely reluctant and hesitant. They didn't believe it would work. Well that 3.3 degrees of caster is working very well. I mostly only rub in reverse now. I'm sure I can get it to rub if I drove hard, but right now I'm good.

Overall I'm happy with the increased caster and the fact that the shop was able to do it.

Pretty pissed though that I paid for a regular alignment in addition to the caster increase alignment. $250 total.

    But they were good people
