Connecticut school shooting 12/14/12

im so pissed...

 

Makes me feel guilty to open gifts and celebrate Christmas this year knowing these folks have to endure the most horrific thing that can happen.


Me being a daddy - ANYTHING happening to my kiddos is THE most horrifying thing ever!

and now the next shitstain sitting in grammas basement that's pissed off at the world because he/she is a loner is saying "hmmm, I think I can kill 40 people and get the record and be infamous"!

 

they are saying that its the 2nd worst shooting rampage in all of American history!
thoughts and prayers go out to every family member and person effected by such a unthinkable event

 

An assault rifle is basically one with a lightweight stock and extended handgrip (similar in design to the military's current M16 rifle), fired almost exactly the same as any other rifle. How would the addition or absense of either of those (stock or handgrip) impacted this shooting incident?

The Federal Assault Weapons Ban included folding stocks, bayonet (knife) mounts, and grenade launchers within that assault weapon description, none of which were used in this or other recent incidents (or were even commonly owned prior to the ban).

Fully automatic weapons (machine guns, etc) have been almost entirely banned (except museums, licensed collectors, etc) since 1986, with severe restrictions prior to that dating back to at least 1934. The only way to get a fully automatic weapon today is to build one yourself, modify an existing firearm, or purchase one on the black market (usually overseas).

Okay, before ranting about gun control, lets be honest here. The real problem is a serious lack of security at most schools. Teachers and adminstrators have persistently (years) taken the position that police on campus infringe on the academic freedom of the school - if nothing else, students don't want them. However, where else would hundreds, or even thousands at larger schools, gather without at least some form of police presence? This elementary school evidently didn't even have a single security guard (certainly not an effective one). That absense of police protection makes schools darn easy targets for wackos and nutcases.

 

So cute.

 

One of the worst tragedies in American history and this is what is trending on Google news... I give up on mankind.

 

Been a long time since I cried but I'm bout to leave work and go get my little guy, I know I wont be able to hold back when I see him. I cant begin to imagine what these parents must be feeling. God bless all their little hearts and their famlies

A lot of people may not know yet. I work in an office and if it weren't for TW, I wouldn't have heard about it yet. One of the girls I work with just cam running in, "Oh my goodness, some whacko just shot up a school in CT". People are still finding out what happened.

 

Yeah man...I feel ya. I cant wait to get the hell out of here to see my babies. I'm pacing.
