Been thinking about selling my Bronco for a 4th gen when the 25’s come out in a few months - not sure if I’ll go with SR manual or an OR manual. It seems that 33s fit the OR on stock wheels/suspension but does anybody know if they will fit on the SR? Not sure how high the standard suspension sits w/leaf springs compared to the OR. Wondering if I might be limited to 32’s with a stock SR setup. Thanks!

    Don’t listen to this guy.

33’s should be fine (285/70/17) for your truck. My OR has plenty of room to spare. It’s the front that is the issue with larger tires. Your leafs in the back won’t matter much.

33's have been shown to fit on stock wheels with no mods on all trims so far. With the narrower 17x7 SR wheels, going up to a 285/70 to achieve a 33" might not wear ideally. I'd probably do 255/80 on those. On an OR with the wider 7.5" wheels I'd definitely do 285/70.

I put my 35" tires on before i lifted it and did not rub. With mudguards and front air dam.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Don't do it...your paint will fall off.

It's so odd to me that they have versions with dissimilar rear suspension like that. Seems like a waste of R&D time.

33s are stock on the OR hybrid, so yes they'll fit your truck with no trimming.
As odd as the different 5-lugger suspension Toyota had in Tacomas for 20 years (1995 to 2015)? Toyota did it to to make the SR cheaper, for fleet customers like Orkin pest control. Otherwise Toyota would lose those customers to the Ford Maverick.

Ok thanks, guys! If I did go with an SR, the plan would be to buy off-road or Sport takeoff wheels anyways before the 33s. The cheapest ORs I can find in my area are around $42k and cheapest SRs about $37k. After I buy takeoffs that would bring the gap to only about $4k so might just make sense to get the OR at that point.

I would spring for the SR5, at least. SR is the base model, weaker engine, less towing, fewer features.

The fact that you are already planning on swapping wheels tells me you appreciate nicer things, so you're better off starting with a better-equipped model.

Edit: obligatory don't buy the first few years of a new model (although you probably went through this with the Bronco).

The SR5 does not have the manual transmission which is my main requirement. Also SRs equipped with the manual get the same engine output/tow rating as the higher trims. Only the SRs with autos are detuned. But yes, for basically $4k difference the better suspension and creature comforts are probably worth it… especially bc it will resale higher anyways.
