I just purchased and installed a softopper this past week if anyone was interested in what I had decided to do. Time will tell how I like it but initial impressions are good. I did spend nearly every last bit of my labor day weekend developing and building an aluminium rack that fits over my softopper and is easily removed with four bolts. I took a lot of the concepts from preexisting racks for softoppers but wanted it easily removable and light so I can do it myself.

My next project is in the works... I am about half way done with a pull out drawer and platform system that utilizes skateboard bearings and 1" steel tubing for really cheap but extremely strong drawer slides.

Awesome. I found a Softopper on CL here for $275, hoping it fits my truck. Love black on silver look. Welcome to TW!
