BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
If you're not sure then get out of it. The Taco ain't for everyone. Personally I'd grab a Buick Regal T (with a trailer hitch, ha ha) but that's just me.

You've never had to pay to maintain a diesel truck before have you?

They're dirty. Diesel pumps are almost always oily and have puddles of oily diesel fuel soaked into the concrete. And you'll be bitching you're head off when some smart car driving hippy takes the only pump with diesel

Lastly the reason the Taco had to be special ordered wasn't just because of the option thing. It's because of the color and the OR package. There is virtually no automatic OR's QC's within 150 miles of Pitt. They are either manuals, or extended cab. I can get Sports all day in what ever color I want. Also, they sell within a day or two of being on the lot.so dealers aren't trading with each other.
Lastly is the color, I only want MGM, can't find it and dealer said needed to be ordered.

I was fine with the initial 4-6 weeks they told me. It's been 4 already and now they said it will be at least 4 more. So not happy about that.

I'm still probably going to go with the Taco, unless Ram basically wants to give me the truck and give me a ton more for my trade.

ROLL the VW with an expired sticker till you get what you want, it's a cheap fine (as long as brakes are good and it is not
    excessively unsafe)

Section 4703 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code is titled Operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection. Under this Section it notes the penalty:

    (1) a person violating this section is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of up to $25.

This is solid advice. Check out the 4runner. Beautiful truck when fully loaded, but pricey. If I didnt get my Taco would probably have gone 4runner.

For me it's not a matter of lazy. It's a matter of added adjustability and therefore comfort.

I love diesel power but, Devin is correct.

Additionally, I think your odds of having VW type repair bills with a Dodge is higher than with a Toyota.

If you drive 50+ miles a day then drive your wife's SUV to work and let her drive the truck. Or just but a used beater for your commute and a used pickup that you can thrash on for fun and for your outdoor activities. Years ago I wanted a Tacoma, like way back in 2006, but gas prices were high and I had a long commute, and eventually was driving around the country for work, so I ditched the idea of a truck and bought a Subaru wagon and don't regret it one bit. Fast forward 10 years and now I live 8 miles from work, so now I have a Tacoma.

Do the math and see how much more it really would cost each year for fuel. You may surprise yourself that it won't be THAT much conceding the big picture. Even $1,000 more a year for fuel is nothing, especially of you can 'afford' a brand new TRD OR. I bet you pay more for cable each year!

Here are two things you need to understand:

    1. Online reviews and opinions will ALWAYS be negatively skewed because people are far more likely to voice their complaints than they are to sing praises. If 5 out of every 100 owners of a product are unhappy with the product, you are far more likely to hear from the unhappy people than the happy people.

    2. Toyota has spent many decades building up their reputation for reliability and because of that people have much higher expectations with a Toyota than they do with other brands. It's not uncommon to hear the phrase "I didn't expect this to happen with a Toyota" when something goes wrong. The truth is, every vehicle is going to have issues, and some more than others. The difference is the Ford, Chevy and Dodge owners are more accustomed to problems whereas Toyota owners flip out over every little thing.

If Dodge cut this [IMG] down in size by 1/3 with a reliable drivetrain and brakes I might be interested in looking at it.

I have to agree with this, and will also admit that I have been guilty of saying, " I didn't expect this to happen with a Toyota" as well! As my first Toyota I think I came to the table with slightly skewed, possibly unrealistic expectations, and now that the dust has settled it may have been a little unfair for Toyota. I'm stoked on my truck even if it is having/has had some issues because Toyota is now aware of the problem, they have looked at the truck twice, it hasn't replicated the issue since (knock on wood), if it becomes an issue in the future it's 100% covered because there is a record of it, and it hasn't cost me a dime so far to have it looked at, so what more can I as for?

When the 2012 facelift went public, many 2005-2011 owners thought the front end looked like a bulldog face, and the transition between the front fender flare and bumper too tacky. When the 2005 model went public, many 1st gen owners thought the truck looked bug-eyed. There are owners still who prefer the 1995.5-1996 front end. It's the common "my truck is the apex of evolution and everything afterwards is downhill" mentality. :p

Then enlighten me, please. You say you require electronic adjustable seats for convenience, but also admitted you've only adjusted the seat once. So what's the issue?!
