Truxxx 3" level kit. (Temporary) Wet Okole seat covers. BoxRocket bed rack. Bora 0.75 wheel spacers All pro sliders. BAMF BPV. B&M trans cooler.
What ever you do...don't move to Canada. Paying $102 per liter at the pump. I'd recommend a Corolla. Not too small but pretty good on gas. Get an older one and keep the truck.

You should import a bluemotion VW Golf. They get an estimated 74mpg and can go around 900 miles to a tank. I don't think you will find them in the US and I have no idea why they won't come here. They are in the Europe. It is also a diesel.

another vote here for an older corolla. mid 90's for around $2000 and keep the truck. even if you had to finance itd be a tiny payment and make up for itself in gas. this is probably what i will do if gas keeps goin up

Hate you, regular in my area is $3.42
TDI maintenance is about the same as a gasoline vehicle. as for diesel prices...it doesn't matter what you pay upfront at the pump, it's how often you'll be paying. which for most people it every 2wks vs every week or every few days.

Look at a used Chevy Malibu, 08 or newer. In your price range and 30mpg. Another one is Ford Fussion. Tint the windows in either one and they are good lookin cars.

my wife has a 2001 corolla and that sob gets 31 mpg. it's crazy she doesn't even know how to put air in her tires! so the rest of the car hasn't been taken care of before i met her, and the damn car is still running strong. we are getting a new car next year and i'll drive the corolla and turn the truck into a trail rig.get a old corolla and it will last and get mpg's

I suggest doing the math. Sometimes buying a vehicle just becuase it's fuel efficient, will hurt you more than just staying in what you have.
What I mean is, if you go drop 14K on a car that gets 25-30 mpg's that's great economy but at what point will it pay for itself. When you could have just kept all that money and stuck it out until the gas prices fell again... Just food for thought.

If you still want to bail and want to stay in a truck, I would look a 5 lug tacomas. I get low 20's if just driving city and I'm not an easy going driver, mid 20's if I do some highway driving, and high 20's if all highway. Last trip to Kentucky I got right at 27mpg, running full synthetic oil, pre filter removed, and keeping it between 65 and 70.

Accords are very nice too. Great mpg's, not too bad on looks, and they are comfortable. Also, they will last forever.
