Took me a few weeks to find one. There was one in Ohio (had all sorts of accessories and, you know, it was far away) and then the one I bought within an hour of my house popped up and I bought it same day (actually like within 2 hours of it being listed). I wanted black because the matte black bumpers, especially the front, did not stand out so much.

I'd consider the SR5 as well. I got the I4 SR5 4x4 and love it. And you can get it near your $26k price point. I really love my truck.

I think the SR 4x4 MT really is the best buy... Profit margins on pickups (for AMs across the board) are pretty astonishing; by far the highest compared to any other type of vehicle. The SR really comes with so much standard already. Everything you need, plus the interior is pretty dang nice for a base spec vehicle.

    Okay, Entune is terrible. Whatever.

I wasn't even shopping new vehicles, but the price difference between a lightly used 2nd gen and a new SR was so little, it was a no brainer. I special ordered mine and I couldn't be happier with it as a daily. The 2TR really has plenty of power unless you tow often or drive like a teenager. It isn't fast, but it's a truck. If I need to drive fast or tear up some canyons, I can take out my weekender. The truck does just fine around town and on the interstate, climbing grades and all. My mpg is 21.3 over the first 5000, so not too shabby...

    I say: buy.

    (Save the manuals!)

I'm with Geico, I changed my insurance from my 2000 4Runner to my 2017 Tacoma, so approx 4K vs 31K difference in value, my insurance went up ~$40 every six months. Exactly the same coverage. Same amount of liability coverage, comp/collision on both cars. I was shocked, I expected a huge increase. So while the SR vs OR price is a big difference, the insurance may not be. My current premium is $259 for 6 months.

Have you compared the TRD's Entune to the SR's Entune? My 2013 TRD was pre-Entune, and I really liked the factory system. It always worked for me the way it's supposed to... where on other cars I had trouble getting my phone to sync, etc etc. BTW, I saw you truck on fuelly. Impressed by the MPGs.

UPDATE: So I finally drove a SR 4x4 MT. I will admit, I was impressed. Not as slow as I expect it to be. Lol. It was adequate. Much quieter in the cabin than my 2001 and my old 2013. Note that I also drive a stage 3 tuned Fiesta ST (#RallyFist on IG - which is fast), a slow-a$$ Miata and a V6 2001 Taco with 33s... so I have a pretty good ground for comparison in power.

I really like it... but I will not settle for the white one, so I'm on hold at least until I can find a red (or blue, black) one or I special order.

There is one rather big problem though. My wife is b1itching at me about the truck. She's actually insisting I spend the $7k more for the TRD OR because of the 4 doors. :/ To be honest. That's not what I want. It's more money and more gas (even is MPGs are not too far apart). I drive a lot so it adds up. Plus, I'm usually alone. Everyone in a while I pick up the kids, but for the occasional trip the access cab is fine. I know because that's what I have now. We're usually in her car anyway.

Most of the SR5 I4 Access Cabs I have seen are MSRP around $30,000.If I could get one for close to $26K I'd be all over it.
    I'm going from a 2015 SR5 V6 Access Cab to a 2017 SR I4 5 speed manual.I'm just waiting on a third dealer to work some numbers.

I asked the sales guy at the dealership how long to have one made exactly like the white one I drove, only red. He texted me back "6 months". But then the next day he came back to me with "45 days". So basically, between one thing and the other, 2 months.

I got mine for reliability in torque. The 5 speed matched with the I4 produces some interesting facts on the dyno. I would need to search for that, but I did end up across it in my initial research.

The rear seat delete also delete the rear split window, which is unacceptable ;)

Yes. FE LL is the code for those options. Most zip codes will not allow for these options with the Toyota.com car builder. If you use Denver (80202) you can get a feel for the price and photos of what it would look like. All dealers can build u the FE LL though once you're ready to purchase.

    ^^^ Thanks!
I see that's exactly what you have.
Does that trim level come with popular features like remote door lock, power windows, cruise control, etc.?

Yes. Base line has all the goodies but you have to get the convenience package which includes rear seats, split rear window, CC, etc.

If you don't do thatvpackage with the SR model you'll end up with a work truck.
