Except you know MTS, Crawl Control, Rear Locker, Brake Booster all the things the Sport is missing from the PRO and OFFROAD.

Don’t care about any of that or would have went for an off road model. I will say, not that I would really use it, but I would like the locker for what if situations. The rest I don’t care and I have a manual so crawl control means nothing.

Also... I am giving my opinion which is what he asked for.

He went with an F150 bud, like 3 posts up. Glad you are happy with your build/truck.

This is a good point, I went with a Pro because I was 100% set on the Voodoo Blue and the upgraded lighting and honestly that was the only reason (I also didn't want to hassle with light upgrades, grill upgrade, suspension upgrade interior upgrades etc... I don't have time to do it myself and having someone do it increases cost exponentially...)

The cost of buying a Pro and buying an OR or Sport are obviously different, Yes you can (potentially) buy an OR/Sport and all the parts to be equal to or in the eyes of some better than a Pro, for the same money or even less than buying a Pro. ** That is IF you do all the work to install all those parts yourself. If you have to hire someone else to install the parts because you don't have the time, tools or shop to do it yourself, then the cost is going to skyrocket, suspension work (install labor) at a reputable (trustworthy) shop is NOT cheap!

You have to take into consideration in ALL the factors! Pro headlights tail lights and fog lights alone are in the milti thousand dollar range... Do you need them? NOPE but they come on a Pro and look alot better than the OR/Sport option IMHO... :notsure:

Someone should do a break down and list costs for ALL the parts to make an OR/Sport into a pro and include installation costs. I am willing to bet that the cost to build a "Pro equal" (in every aspect, interior and exterior) with paying for labor, would be more than buying a pro from the dealership at MSRP...

I know he went with an F1Fity... Just throwing this out there...

Buy the 2019. It’s not worth waiting months for a 2020 and then when they do come out the 2021’s will be announced and the vicious cycle continues. I plan on keeping my 2019 until someone comes out with a badass all electric truck I can afford. I also secretly hope Toyota discontinues MT’s so mine will be even more of a unicorn.

Okay?...Just pointing this out since no one seems to be actually reading through the posts before they comment, since OP clearly posted a page back his new F150...

I really dig the front end of the new silverado, they nailed it, especially the trail boss, the rear end though however needs some help.

First hand dealt with weld issues, track bar shearing off, paint discoloring, broken accessories , water leaks etc.. within the first 2k on my JL. One couldn’t give me another FCA product.

I have a 2018 and it's been plagued with issues. I'm actually looking to trade into a TRD off road or Pro. I've had small electrical issues, a stutter under acceleration, oil consumption issues, and now I'm pretty sure my cam phaser will need to be replaced (it sounds bad when it's cold started). I'm not the only one either. More and more forum members are popping up with oil consumption and cam phaser issues. I loved my 14 and wish I never sold it.

So you are having issues with your Raptor? A Tacoma is a good choice. All models have little quirks but burning oil is concerning. I suggest research the Off Road and the Pro and see if the extra money is something you are willing to spend. Both are good trucks, but Off Roads can be much cheaper especially if you get a manual one. Best of luck.

I am not seeing oil consumption issues like you say at all on 3rd forum.
I am glad I dumped my 2nd gen. 3rd moves out once rolling, 2nd bogged. Do miss the 8 track player though.

Yeah.... I almost bought a 17 TRD Off Road before the raptor. I like the Pro but for the amount of mods I'm planning it would make more sense to find a off road to build up. Although if I find a sweet deal on one you never know. A local dealer has a stick Pro and they came off sticker real quick on it. However I'm finding the Prices of the Off Roads way to tempting. So far most local dealers offering 10% or more off of MSRP on the Off Roads before the Toyota 1k cash back offer.
I wish the OP luck on his new truck.
