It's an Aisin AC6, Toyota calls it an RC62F, which is a bit weird as Toyota essentially owns Aisin. Search around and you'll find more info on the RC Series, along with the older RA upon which it shares much with.

    Zero regrets
It’s not perfect as others point out, but it’s still the best drivetrain available for the truck IMHO.

Right, the torque multiplier certainly helps

If they stop making the MTs will parts become hard to find? Planning on driving this thing forever.

it says it doesn’t fit but it does

and this is a nice add on too

you’ll need a rubber grommet to keep the metal underneath from rattling on the shifter shaft; I got one at Autozone and slipped it down under the chrome piece; no rattle at all now

Tacoma Sport 4x4 Manual here in the Sierra Snow. It has a strong engine and a comfortable clutch. A very nice truck to drive indeed.

Around here I see other types of modern trucks on the road and they are nice. But the Tacoma is its own thing. Not so big for towing things around, but easily the best pick-up for getting around on challenging mountain roads.

I just picked up my 2023 TRD Pro 6MT a few days ago. I searched CarGurus for mine, as I was willing to travel to get the right deal. I found one in New Castle PA (I live in FL). The price was reasonable considering the 6-13k markups for the ones I found in FL. I picked it up this past Wednesday and drove it up to Michigan on Thursday to surprise my son. We will then be driving down to AL after thanksgiving for a week and then finally back to Florida. Working from home has its perks!

Lol, you have pretty much the exact vehicles as I do but slight color variation. I have a inferno tacoma and a dark gray lexus rx330.

Why are there so many in PA? When I lived there I had to go to Texas to get mine

    :annoyed:

I walked onto the lot in Bloomington, MN and bought mine the same day both in 2016 and 2020. And the 2020 is a 6mt. Am I lucky or do I just not care about colors and tech packages?

The Lexus is my daughter-in-law’s. Our other vehicle is a 2021 Acura RDX PMC edition and it is also Orange.
