Not to mention that if you stick a good LT kit in the front and are still stock in the rear it isn't going to do you any good. I would upgrade the rear before the front. I thought my rear suspension was setup good and then I really put some time into optimizing travel and getting everything worked out. It is just barely to the point where it out performs the front and that is with 13-14" of travel in the rear and stock front geometry.

Talking about unlawful speeding on public roads will get you banned pretty quickly on here.

Just go quality mid travel - kings / fox / sway away in front and rear with a quality leaf pack / 3 leaf add-a-leaf in the rear. Replace your ball joints, bushings, tie rods and you should be good. I'd trace the source of that wobble first though - only under braking sounds like brakes either front or rear - you could try the e brake trick to isolate the wobble to front or back and go from there. Other than than you could check your wheel bearings for play and if after all that it is still wobbling, I'd check ball joints, tie rod ends, and bushings.

Sweet, some input on the wobbling... So first of all my year doesn't have an e-brake, just a left side kick parking brake, like a ford (fucking lame). My front passenger side bushings is a bit warn (visibly), would that really make such a difference?

Also obviously I meant kph, that would totally be illegal in mph :p

Good save... I know how fast people drive out in the desert, just passing along the info...

LCA bushings? They've caused some issues for some guys when they deteriorate and play develops.

Agreed, definitely check the LCA bushings, I had a steering wobble with great alignment, new rotors, balenced tires, etc.... all UCA and LCA bushings were worn badly... so I swung for the Camburg LT kit because “I had to fix the truck”

You would be fine with a decent mid travel coilover and rear leaf pack. When I had my OEM kings they could handle speeds on rough trails at around 18-25 mph and easily around 40+ on backroads.

LT is for the folks who off-road to off-road, but want that speed while hitting it. It sounds to me you get dirty while in transit...if so, just pick a coilover and bolt it on. My preference is kings as they ride cushy and if you get them with the remote resis with compression adjusters you can have an "on the fly" tuning adjustment. As far as the rear, a simple full leaf pack that is designed for the amount of lift you want to achieve is what I would get. Add a leafs are a cheap add on, but they will sag and possibly affect the ride later on when they start to wear out in a year or two. If you want some nice leaf packs for the coin, deaver makes some really good packs...but I would talk to a shop for spring over packs before just buying online so you can ensure it is exactly the one you want as Deaver makes packs for all applications.

just so you guys know the TC LT +2" and +3.5" are not lift heights. They are increases in track width. The lift is dictated by the height set by spanner wrenches on coilovers. Just read this whole thread on recommendation by another member and saw some people posting some inaccuracies.

Also what is meant by long travel in the rear? Only LT I have seen on a truck is a 4 link with shock hoops above the height of the bedsides. You can see the mid travel total chaos spring under kit with the little hoop that goes as high in the wheel well as they can.

Is there an official stock travel v mid travel v long travel height?

Everything is stock travel compared to a trophy truck...

Well unfortunately all of these terms are willy nilly for the dumbasses that spend way too much money on their trucks hoping they'll be full blown tt's (not really though).

But basically if you want to know what guys on here consider, MT 9-11 front 12-13 rear, LT 13-14 front 16+ rear. It doesn't really say much in how well the truck will perform, but just a reference in terms of travel numbers...

Plenty of companies make rear kits, but they're not the only way to go, especially for first gen trucks.

DMZ, Camburg, Giant, make SUA spring under axle Kits for 2nd gen trucks, all producing 16”+ of rear wheel travel.
    I’d consider that long travel.
If you want to get into 4/3-links you need a lot more work. And a lot more $$$. Tube frame back-halves, fuel cells, cab cages...
But you do get unparalleled travel numbers (25”+?) and performance/ strength.

It all depends on which website you are on. Compared to Race Dezert we are all mid travel at best. For Tacoma World the 3.5 kits and spring under kits are long travel

Willy Nilly terms really confuse the dumb assess like ME who come here to learn shit and instead spend my time trying to figure out this whole other language (oops, are we allowed to cuss? I didn't know we weren't allowed to talk about speeding... ). I know my ignorance isn't your problem, but I'm simply saying not everyone is born knowing all these terms. So if they are being used & I'm taking the time to learn them, please make sure they aren't being used willy nilly!
