Currently own 2019 SR5 bought new 65K on odometer, has been good reliable truck 3.5 V6 Atuo trans. 4X4 6ft bed. Have been looking for 2025 TRD Sport 4X4 with 6ft bed 14" screen, Blue paint and Upgrade package only, as I don't want sunroof , power tailgate etc stuff that I know can fail and be expensive to repair.

How bad do you want a new truck?

Maybe just get a 2025 SR5 if you don’t want all the extras. I went from a 2019 to my current 2024. The difference in ride quality is unbelievably good. The little turbo engine is a beast…

I had a 1G and a 3G. I loved them both. Now, I have a 4G. It's a much better truck. My only worry is how will the 4 cylinder turbo hold up over time?

Can’t help on your choice, but in test driving the 4th gen drivetrain is much better than my 2017 (also bought new, 100k miles)

On the power tailgate reliability consider that Toyota has been selling SUVs and minivans with power liftgates for a long time. Have you seen or heard of those not being reliable?

If you have a 2019 it's got to be paid off by now. Keep it and get a Rwd SR Xtracab. If you like the Xtracab sell the 2019, if you don't like the Xtracab you're not going to like the 4G. Probably easier to keep the 19, maybe get a used V8 Tundra what's the market like on those these days?

Test drive a 2025 SR5 without all the extras to get a feel for it. I went from a 3G V6 4.0 to a 2024 OR, smoother rider. My wife never cared for the 3G V6 4.0. Now she wants to drive my '24 OR.
