Can I ask why? Is the rust that bad?

Clean off the rust, prime, paint and then woolwax or fluid film... Truck frame will last longer than you will keep the truck!

dd light bars, trd cat back exhaust, KDMax tuned, trd skid plate, 2" lift, sema wheels toyo open country at3 tires.
Black Fluid Film, or Wool Wax, and be done with it. re-coat yearly, in high wear areas. hit everything but the brake rotors/drums, (get the backing plates though), and the exhaust. If you get a bit of overspray on any of the 3, it will wear, wash, or burn off. Ski

I would take it to shop, let them clean it and oil coat it. Unless you have a garage and a lift. Fluid film is good but will get messy and is hard to reach. I did mine myself because all shops are booked and i had no idea..

Also, was super hard to get it inside frame, because I have no garage or lift... I literally laid down under the car and tried to shoot it in all areas.

Shops are prob all booked now, but if you do buy it in spring, you can book it now. They will look at it and tell you price after, to clear out rust, then coat it.

Your frame looks fine, just need to clean it up. Fluid film is good because it gets everywhere, its like thick oil. It can get in holes, beneath them etc. Places coating will not get to.

Salt usually gets inside those holes, sits there and damages paint, then metal causing rust. That's why you need to fluid film it.

Here’s my 2020 bought in late 2019, always oil sprayed yearly with Krown up here in Canada, we get loads of salt on the roads and I’m happy I got it treated IMG_0871.jpgIMG_0869.jpg

Yep, I have appointment for mine in Feb but didn't want to leave it without cover until then. So I made my own mess.

Another Krown user, and happy with them. I like how they spray inside of body panels too. If you have them reapply yearly, they lock in your cost at your first application pricing.

If you don't want to do it yourself go with whatever is near you. Krown, fluid film, woolwax, the PB blaster version all will lengthen the lifespan of your vehicle.

One of the pics earlier in this thread shows oil dripping out of the pinch weld of the rocker panel... Exactly what you want.
