For the 3rd Gen, I installed mine last Sunday. I do like the extra height, but the foam should be a higher density and the installation, while simple, is finicky using contact cement.

Doing it again, I would have probably just ordered the shift boot and been happy as the e brake boot is so-so also.

Still, a good idea for a Christmas present.

To install, you just remove the eight visible screws on the bottom side of the lid. Pry that off. Then, the four screws for the hinge. The vinyl cover is not glued on, so just work the edges off. From there, contact cement the foam to the foam. The leather cover just gets cement around the edge where it contacts the plastic. That is the challenging step. Reassembly is easy.

Not sure about 3rd Gens., but 2nd Gens. are pretty simple. I removed lid and disassembled pulled tight, and used my staple gun with short staples. Reinstalled everything has held up for years no movement.
    Good luck with your project.

I ordered one of the black leather one's from there and got the extra padding. It looks great and is really comfortable as an arm rest. It was worth the money to me for this mod..

I think it would of been easier to drop the lid off at an upholstery shop then pick it up and re-install it. It would be money well spent and you would have a great looking armrest in your truck.

100% agree,I've had local upholstery work done they can tailor to your specific needs. Not just basic selections like online.

Be careful ordering from their (cr@ppy) website! You go through the motions to select everything, and then apply a coupon code, and then the website says you will have a chance to review the order on the next screen, and I selected Paypal, and when Paypal sent me back it auto-completed the order. No discount applied and no review of order. In this day and age there is NO excuse for cr@ppy websites! Good grief... :-(
