Yup, if the manual was not an option I wouldn't be driving one either. I would either go to a bronco or a gladiator.... problem is the same level as a pro in those manufacturers is like 10k more to get the same things. I feel like most people on TW enjoy the manual though. Would be interesting as to what truck they would switch to if any at all.

Not sure but sure wish the 4Runner came in manual. I would be all over that.

Shot down by Toyota after requesting a repaint... inner fenders and the driver's side rear door behind the window started flaking a few weeks ago on my Super White 2016 with 79K. They said due to vehicle age and mileage they would not cover it, but there may be a future program. If you have paint problems, make sure to report them.

Sorry to hear that. Does your VIN start with a 5 or 3?

Have you gone into a dealer yet? Have them document it and get a quote from the body shop on the repair and then submit it to cooperate under the ZKG program. Toyota is approving them for the Tacoma even when you're well out of warranty. It was fairly painless for me other than waiting for the approval which took about a week.

No they did not. I called Toyota and they search by VIN which is pure bullshit. They told me to pound sand bc they not have enough cases to place the 2017 Tacoma on the list

The ZKG program does not apply to Tacomas!

They're not actively on the list but dealers can still submit a request. Toyota is approving them under good will warranty work.

Toyota Dealer and Corporate told me to pound sand, so I do not know what goodwill warranty is coming from Toyota ...

Welp, rear doors show signs of going around the windows as well. Toyota has gone to shit.

If you have a white one get rid of it as fast as possible or deal with the consequences.

Yeah mine is all in my imagination lol. This isn't the only white paint thread either.

White is the only color that seems to be falling off, why chance it? I could've bought a red one or a gray one for the same money and not had to deal with the paint peeling off my fenders and doors.

Thank you for proving my point perfectly. Where did I say you or anyone else didn't have an issue?

If it was as bad people want you to think the white Tacoma thread would be a complete dumpster fire.

If it makes you feel better I have yet to see one of these posts for a Pro specifically. Most are 2016/2017 out of the Mexico plant. Perhaps its a timing thing though because the pros were delayed a bit.

Both of these takes are correct and aren't mutually exclusive.

TW, let alone a handful of threads, is waaayy to small of a sample size to accurately grasp how big or small of an issue this really is, but if it were as widespread as the poll suggests, then there would be a mass recall or service campaign. Like restaurant reviews, people generally only write a review after a bad experience, not a good one.

However, it does substantiate that there is fact an issue and once aware some people may elect to mitigate an unknown risk while they can.

I think there were a couple lawsuits that prompted the current recall. The dealer I spoke with today said they do 3-4 peeling white paint jobs per month and mine was the 2nd Tacoma he’s seen this week lol.

Ugh, I placed an order for an MGM a few weeks back and got a call from the dealer today (dunning toyota) to tell me it will take till Nov to arrive. He asked if I wanted to switch to a Black or White instead which will be in stock next month.

I told him I'd switch to the White. Have I made a terrible mistake??

Well you can buy White and take a chance that it peels or you can buy any other color and not have that problem.
