I was installing an amplifer to my system and I (rookie mistake) didn't disconnect the negative cable. Connected the amplifer and had that quick whiff of burnt electrical. I checked the fuse and I blew the acc fuse in the dash. Replaced the fuse and now my radio is not working. The fuse for the radio is fine. I tested my connections again because I had to redo some wiring. With the truck running I am getting 13.8v on the red wire, but only .68v on the constant power yellow wire. With the truck off I am getting 0v on the red wire (expected), but still only .68v on the constant power yellow wire. I checked the ACC fuse again under the dash and hood. Both looked fine. Another issue (related / unrelated, it's electrical so who knows) is when I use my key fob to unlock, it is only unlocking the driver side no matter how many times I press it. It will not lock at all using the fob. I am at a loss right now. Any ideas? I hate trying to chase down electrical work.

I also saw something about a short pin, but I have no idea where in the under the hood fuse box it is... if there is one for 1st gen.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Who in their right mind at Toyota decided that it would be a great idea to put some of the doorlocks and the accessory constant power on the dome fuse. Who would ever figure that out.

FYI- there is a pinned thread at the top of the 1st gen forum with links to the factory service manual. The FSM has wiring diagrams in it in case you want to look this stuff up in the future.

Thank you Andy. I have that manual and used it many times. I am greatful that I found it on this site. Unfortunately, I would have never thought that a dome light fuse would have caused all these issues. I guess I could have followed the wiring diagram back from the constant wire now that I think about it.

To be fair, the wiring diagrams can be a pain if you don't know what you're looking for...

100% agree with that statement. I have a hard time following them sometimes.
