Not trolling or intending to bash the 2016, just stating what the October 2016 issue of Consumer Reports says it is, which is one of four new vehicle "Disappointments of the Year", giving it an overall score of 54 out of 100. Last sentence pretty well sums it up: "...but after waiting 13 years for a redesign, buyers deserve better."

Consumer Reports is written for 70-90 year olds that don't use the internet to find real evaluations on products. Why do we care what they think?

Interesting... It seems there is a lot of truth to everyone's "complaining" after all. I think I have purchased my last "new" Tacoma.

I'm no fan of CR outside of household appliances and things like that, so I'm not defending them here. I will say their long term statistical compilations on vehicle data is worthy of a look if you are a used car buyer. They don't influence, just gather data.

But I'll also remind you of a couple of other things...........

Someday you may be 'old', if you're smart and tough enough to make it. And there will be lots of things around you don't care about either. Video games, movie stars and the hottest sneakers for example.

Never forget who invented the internet. It wasn't Al Gore, and it wasn't the kids who have grown up with it.

Most 'real' evaluations you read on the internet are pretty suspect as well. Because we have no clue if the reviewer is 'real', ethical, or what their basis of comparison is. It's just 'stuff', and it all needs filtering.

I admit I'm not 100% happy with mine, but if the reviewer couldn't even do the math correctly to figure out how long the 2nd Gen was in production (...13 years? Ummm.) it just destroys their entire credibility for me.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Al Gore didn't invent the internet? Shit, I shall now zip myself into a body bag (so as not to offend anyone by the sight of blood) then jump off the clock tower to my death.

The same organization that said the Tesla Model S was the greatest car ever then had to retract their review when the cars started catching fire. (BTW I like Tesla, I just don't trust CR.)

I remember a lot of outlets were claiming when the GM twins came out that they would take over the market or at the very least take a chunk out of tacoma sales.

They are. YTD Tacoma sales are 111,000 while GM twins are 81,000. Tacoma ytd is +5.5%, Colorado is +24% and Canyon is +18%. Ford is now scrambling to get a new Ranger here as it is obvious midsize market is growing. BTW, Nissan Frontier sales are +34% ytd. So unless there is a supply issue at Toyota I would say they are losing market share.

They aren't. All sales are growing as the market is growing. Toyota has said constantly that they are building at maximum capacity and that they can't keep up with demand. So the GMs have not affected Tacoma sales at all.
