I agree, my 2.7 has all the power I need - never had a problem merging and like the economy and reliability - The last truck I owned which was a good truck until it rusted out after 12 years was a 1985 Dodge with a 318 which had 165 HP - the 2.7 Taco has 160 and lighter - if I wanted speed, I would not have bought any Tacoma - most 4 cylinder cars are faster than stock Tacomas with V-6 's anyway

^^EXACTLY^^ the 3.5 may be quicker but it’s still pretty slow. Any vehicle that weighs ~4500lbs is gonna need a lot of power to move that bulk at a decent rate.

We would all like a 4.7 v8 in our tacoma with 340 to and big torque and 20 plus mpg. And not go up in weight on engine too. Don't see that happening.

When I bought my Tacoma last October I test drove everything except the SR-5 (couldn't find one) and the Ridgeline (I'm not parking anything that ugly in my driveway - the lines on an old mike boat have more appeal) and it wasn't even close. The Tacoma had the right balance of utility, tech, looks, and ride for the price I was willing to pay. It's my fourth truck and the first Toyota I've owned. Easily the best of the lot.

My doctor has CR in his waiting room. Next time I'm in for a prostate exam I'll read the article for good laugh.

LOL, did you look at the rest of the cars on the list? It seems that every niche car should be avoided at all costs. The escalade is uncomfortable she says, just about every car had too loud of an exhaust, the tesla has too long of a wait for delivery. Click bait garbage like this is just that, garbage. Did you read the "about the author?" She has zero automotive experience, she didn't drive a single one of these, and she's basically compiling shit she found during a google search. Her daily driver is probably an 04 malibu for gods sake.

    My favorite quote:
"You would expect more from Jeep and this time they did not hit the mark with this Jeep’s handling abilities."

When has a wrangler EVER been known for it's handling?

He at times had good posts but I can't say I miss all his negativity. At times I hates his truck as much as he did. :)
