Too bad they have to rely on the old name Jeep to sell vehicles. A 'Jeep" is really no more.

Thanks you for your feed backs…Consumer Reports still has a huge following…. And Ratings by Consumer reports does effect buyers…

I follow my own ratings…but I do read and research whatever I may purchase…lots of readings…
Like buying a knife sharper…it took me almost year and half…I know what I wanted..the Wicked edge…almost got one…hesitated..prices went up…end up buying a Work Sharp MK2…$79.00 …electric… Can sharpen many knives very quickly…almost razor sharp…still learning how to use it…. Mainly for household knives..and fishing cutting …NO regrets and I would buy it again..due to ease, and how fast it sharpens… I try many other brands.. Still have them.. The Tacoma 400 watt rear outlet…does power the Work sharp sharper….

The final choices will always be your own beliefs…Ratings are just a guide…. It is amazingly how people believe Amazon ratings…. I believe Amazon “negative ratings more..” as my guide for Amazon products..
    Aloha

The last time I seen a consumer reports magazine was in an outhouse. It wasn't used for reading.

There were no power seats in a 2001 Corolla in North America, so unless it was imported from somewhere else, it doesn't have power seats.

Also my 2011 Lexus has manual seats too. How do I even survive?

I never go by Amazon, or some of those other big online distributer names. What i have bought, and found fairly honest reviews from smaller company online sites that are selling the product claiming to have actual verified buyers.

Good point re the negatives, plus I always look more at the recent be they good or bad. Perhaps that's driven by buying from other individuals and looking at their records.

I had 124k miles on my 2nd Gen when I traded it in...never changed pads or shoes, and I checked (measured) them every time changed over wheels & tires (Winter/Summer sets). Only vehicle I ever owned that pads and shoes lasted that long. They still had life left.

CR used to have an annual car issue and it always had a section with an owners report on all aspects of a vehicle. Columns with things like "transmission, engine, handling, "electrical" etc. Based on owner survey's and repairs. I'm not sure what the symbol was for "best", but I think it was a check mark. It was for the last 5 or 6 years. The Tacoma always has the highest symbol in everything but things like ride and handling. I think the 2016's had one symbol lower for the transmission....otherwise fine.

If I wanted to improve the ride and handling, I would install Rancho RS5000 shocks in the back to start. The valving self-adjusts according to the suspension travel that is going on. Dips, washboard, suspension moving at its limts, on rough road or mild off-road they firm up. Hitting the bump stops: greatly reduced; Get back on the highway, they adjust back for a softer ride. You could actually sense the change in ride. I had them on a Blazer and they eliminated the washboard hopping, float, "bucking bronco effect" in and out of the dips and just worked. Don't know about now, but back a few years they didn't cost a fortune.

Ya: What he said: I don't mind at all. The truck stops like it has four-wheel braking and I don't care if it's accomplished by a pair of cables running from the pedal to the back shoes. They work. I asked the dealer to check the shoes before I bought the truck: A big dealer in this neck of the woods who I think has at least one store of every brand in the world. They have three Toyota stores. I told them I'd pay to get them replaced if required (after the paper work was done.) Finding: Appeared to be Original: NTF/NRR: 104K. I can live with that.

Agree. One of my buddies from High School bought one when he got his first good job out of college. I think maybe a 1975 with the V8. Just like the one in the Jesse Stone movies. The awful thing was though, I swear it was rusting (body) within 18 months. He was devastated when I'd see him from time to time. You could drive that thing I truly believe for a million miles with no driveline repairs..... but you wouldn't have anything left of the body.

Yup they still do have that and that section too..just saw it on the newsstand actually. I want to say it's full red circle is best, half red, clear, half black, full black as the worst.

Mine is on the original shoes at 124K

I remember seeing those magazine issues, most of GM and Chrysler were full of Black Circles.
