None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Toyota does have credability problems, the fact that they knew about a lot of these problems and really did not address it properly, in fact did not look back in history at companys that did the same. Poor showing by the higher ups, for sure.

I think this is going to hurt Toyota badly, especially when there is a good chance they have not got the problem fixed, the computer(ECU) controlled engines found in all cars these days can have problems.

Lets hope the people at Toyota wake up soon.

Besides the 08 Taco, we own an 06 Camry 4 cyl. Engine and tranny have been great. The problems I had early on were the air bag electronics had to be replaced completely-the dealer kept it for two weeks to do this. And the upper windshield trim began to separate and stick up. The windshield had to be removed and resealed. These items were covered under 3/36. The driver's side front caliper froze do to corrosion on a slide pin. This was out of warranty and replaced on my dime. The Camry now has 95k miles and will be paid for by 12/2010. I plan to keep it many years. It gets great gas mileage btw!

I just got my recent issue (might be April) in the mail..... and they give the Honda Ridgeline ( a car-like truck) the best in quality & reliability (so to speak). They also say....If you want a traditional pickup truck, go with the tacoma.

They also have a year-to-year comparison. Most everything gets highest marks (excellent) and Excellent safety ratings also. The things they ratet as being 'weak' (so to speak), was everything that everyone complains about on the forum (and I had to laugh). IN the 07 - I think the paint & brakes were the weakness.

Just got a survey from Toyota in my email yesterday for my new truck purchase in November. Pretty good survey. It gave me a chance to list my likes, dislikes, gripes, etc. on almost everything in or on the truck.
It was a great opportunity to input the quality issues I have seen as well as some I have noticed from this site.
While they may not use all the information to make changes to this model or future models my hope is they look at these issues for the future. Ken:cool:

Consumer Reports was on one of the TV network morning shows last week speaking about cars and stated they had to remove Toyota (for the most part) from their rating due to the apparent questions and controversy involved with the congressional hearings being conducted.

They said that overall Toyota has always made a good product but presently they were omitting ranking/ratings.

I saw the same program and basically Consumer Reports said the reason to take them off the rankings was because they had halted all sales, due to the amount of cars on the recall.....
Since Toyota stopped selling cars, then there is no reason to to rate them.

I am a first time toyota owner and I am seriously dissapointed in them. Even though I did not own one, I genuinely recommended Toyota's , for years, as a very good solid car. My need for a truck arised and there was no question of what I was going to buy.

the toyoda guy told congress that toyota got "confused" and that they basically put money over quality.
i hope that toyota is being remembering that they became the biggest automaker because of quality.
i think toyota will step up and return to the quality they once had.

Yeah, I don't agree with pretty much anything here. Straw man arguments like "It could be the ECU" get no respect because there's absolutely no proof that this is the case. Actually, it could be the monkeys that live in the transmission that are causing all the havoc.

The only reason it "may" hurt Toyota is because of the media and the morons we have in Congress. That's about it. Until Toyota kills the same 173 people (700 injured, btw) that Ford/Firestone did, I won't worry.

And, to show just how this sort of stuff blows over, I owned a recalled Explorer yet I now have Firestone tires on my Tacoma. People will continue to buy Toyota's because they know they are getting a quality vehicle at a good price and they also know that politicians are idiots.
