true. I didn't know if one was less abusive on the engine than the other.

price is close for either one but it looks like they are still fine tuning things on the turbo kit or is out already?

    and of there's this!!! :D

Both TRD & URD kits are worth the money.

There is a used TRD S/C on XRU for $2600 that has a 2.8" pulley.

This would be an easy install over the week end.

I have installed a couple and the power is worth it. The TRD is going to be about 310 HP. With mods you can get it to 350.

The URD costs more, but will net you over 400 hp.

How fast do you want to go? and how much green do you have?

There are a handful of Youtube vids, mostly in-cabin, showing a taco with the supercharger installed. Unfortunitely, most of them are iphone videos, so the sound is pretty chopped and tinny. Managed to find one showing a taco on a dragstrip too. The ones to check though are the ones focused on the speedo showing the 0-60 with and without supercharger...shaving off 2 seconds which is huge.

I say if you don't have any other big expenses in your life, if you don't do a $2k-$4k vacation each year, and don't frequently buy anything for the truck or yourself...and can tackle the installation (mainly the pully modifications) yourself then do it.

this is the ultimate question. turbo would be the best power esp if you go all out, but will me MUCH more expensive than the other kits (unless you do the fab work yourself or something)

yeah i think gadget is making around 422 to the wheels. the URD and TRD use two completely different types of supercharging fyi.

TRD uses a traditional roots type blower. URD uses a turbo looking centrifugal type supercharger.

Dammit... I can't find that thread I put all the notes in regarding the differences b/w the URD and TRD kit. That being said... I have decided on TRD for my application

Can you guys please stop giving OP wrong information.

He cannot run a URD S/C because he has an 09+ truck. They have different ECUs and URD has not cracked the new ones yet.

As for the turbo kit, be ready to spend lots of money. The member that said 6K for his turbo kit did not include the fact that he needed a stand alone ECU management system, another 1500+$. Also he is a fabricator for the shop and did most of the work himself, therefore reducing the cost for him.

Lol. I wan't trying to be an ass but just getting things straight.

I will challenge you to find a "fuel management" system that can run the URD MK2/MK3 kit on 09+ or a turbo for under a 1000$. MAP ECU2/3 don't count because owners couldn't get them to work right for tuning the set up. The real thing that URD/turbo kits need is a piggy back ecu or stand alone. That is why Torspd and Toon are running 2K+$ Pro Efi ECU management. If it was that easy, wouldn't G be selling his S/C kits with the "fuel management" setup. He could then sell much more S/C and in return make more money.

Also for the turbo kit (Sik X) - he said 6K "was a good start". Please read the thread http://www.xr-underground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48012

Im thinking the TRD, plus the 2.8" pulley and either the unichip or Uconn. :)

Forget the unichip. Go Uconn or APR (if you can find one).
