By the time the water gets to the level of my tail lights your diff would be under water.
And what happens when a war/hot differential is then exposed to cool/cold water is the creation of a vacuum. With what you now have as a two way valve it would instantly suck in water. Either retain the one way valve (cleaned and confirmed operational) or move to a much higher located two way valve. What you have is a problem waiting to happen

This is the reason only the rear diff has a one way valve. All the others have two way valves located relatively high up inside the engine compartment. I think you are the only one who has ever replaced the one way valve on the rear diff with what is now a two way.

By relocating that valve up high and using a two way valve we have just replicated how everything else is vented.

The "breather" valve for the front diff on my 2018 was one-way like the rear (confirmed by attaching a piece of hose to it and blowing/sucking on it). Not sure about the trans/t-case/diff actuator... Still need to check.

I did what Smacky2020 did, I gutted the inside of the valve and reinstalled it. Like said, there's many more things to be worried about than a little water getting into your diffs if you're in water up past your taillight or the engine.

Here is a picture of the rear diff stock OEM breather that I removed from my 2020 and disassembled after doing the rear diff breather relocate mod.

It sure seems like OEM is a one-way breather, lets air out, but is supposed to seal up and not let shit in... Same as Smacky2020's picture, just a different angle.

I replaced this with an OEM one-way breather up in my taillight because if water got that high, I have other problems to deal with...

I do not and do not plan to launch boats at a boat ramp, but if I did I would think a one-way breather would be optimal. Due to the angles involved, I could see where water might reach the rear taillight if you were launching a boat on a trailer at a boat ramp...

So much for being the only one to have done it that way @babylon5. I guess my secret is out.

High heat? I wonder what temp is getting to the end of the hose let alone the filter assembly. No doubt the ARB is stout but does it need to be? People say that the price equates to high quality but what is the benefit? The assumption is that a knockoff can’t possibly work as well as the ARB. I think that there is no incentive for ARB to change as the fan base might look down on the product for using lessor looking/feeling design. Who knows maybe the knockoff did research beyond ARB and developed a better product that is easier to make?
